Class of 6SS 1998!

Taylors College had their open day today! I didn't know everybody was going! Thought I'd only meet up with Abby but ended up with like the whole bunch!! .. Except Manda, Su Hsien and Esther. Where were they? Even Li Peng forgot to call me for the schedule. She's going tomorrow though! The Career Interest Test was soOOOo interesting. At least I learn something about myself there. And yes, I am suitable to be a dentist! YAy!
Recently there has been alot of discouraging people lately saying things like "Are you sure you want to spend your entire life looking at people's mouth?" or
"You know one patient takes how long ar?" ARGHH..!!

There were these bitchy parents at the Open Day's Q&A. I noticed parents all tend to stoop to the same level of bitchiness when they are trying to stand up for their kids. One dad was like, "You have spoken for so long, yet we still do not understand the difference within this three courses..?" and when the lady speaker explained a little more about the courses..apparently in detail, I won't know... the man stood up again, "Yes, but we are still confused." Stupido.

I saw sooooo many people there, especially people from my primary school. Great!!! :) Now if only there are some from kindergarten..... but nah, majority would still be in form 5. Joash is going to taylors too! (He was my kindergarten classmate)..

I guess I've made up my mind. I am taking A-Levels.. or as they call it, CAL. And you know what??? I don't want to be deemed weak by just taking three subjects.. So guess what?
HELLO AGAIN FUCKING PHYSICS!!

Had the standard 6 class party reunion at Kyle's house just now. Stupid Barry couldn't come back in time so we couldn't make our konyaku entrance together. I had to go there and tell them that "Oh Barry made this too!" so that he won't seem like a scrooge. Hor Baz? But apparently it didn't matter coz not everybody brought dishes. I'm going to make more Konyaku tomorrow..!! Konyakus are soo fun! At least this time they'll be harder coz I'll have more time to spend using the fridge!

The class reunion was alittle mundane in the beginning. Very quiet people hovering around. I mean I expected screeches and HIIi!!!!!!!.. but they were like "heh. hi." But the situation DID change for the better, and we all got talking abit more. Surprisingly I couldn't stop talking with Ying Qi..lol.. Discussed about girls in SJ.. apparently, her school, the girls there are considered bitches among all the schools in Subang. True. True. Seafield girls are sporting. SU girls are apparently hard to get. How true is that?

I expected Barry and Kevin to go sit with Sze Wern, Jolynn and Darshini they all ala standard 6 and myself with siew li, zachary and jocelyn as usual. But how the people changed. My my. A cloud of awkwardom loomed over each passé cliques. So we scurried back to each other's familiar crappy jokes. But slowly we all bonded a little bit more and the outcome was actually quite great!! Zachary made his grand entrance alongside EuShen, Brian, Angee and this Christine girl. They just got back from Disney On Ice Beauty and The Beast. Zachary gave me a hug when he saw me! So sad, he's going to migrate to US soon.. apparently they've been waiting for more than 10 years already. Well, he was supposed to head over to Taylors since he's done with SPM.. then YAY we can be good friends again. But unfortunately, ;( he's going adi..It was soo nice to talk to him after soooo long. He's got the nicest eyes when you talk to him! Brian saw me, and I saw him and I was like "AHHHHH!!!!" and he was like "AHHHHhHH!!!!" lol, soooo funny. You know lar that Brian like jump here jump there type of person. And then Anngee brought in another friend called Christine who whispered in AnnGee's ears when she was being introduced to me. (How rude!) .. and then she said that I looked familiar ..but I won't know her.
Bloody suspense maker!

Everyone's so big already...We never even had a reunion... (not counting the pathetic one Siew Li and I tried to organize in form3..At Coffeebean!! OH GOD...) and now when we have one, our next step would already be tertiary education. wow.. *tearing*

AND U ALL.. HOW can U FFK ME ? I WAS HOPING TO GO MIDVALLEY WITH THE MAJORITY OF YOU GUYS...*SOBBBBB*

Will be meeting Ben Shyen tomorrow at TGIF! EVERYBODY.. DON'T PULL OUT. PULL OUT, I'll Pull The Trigger.

Experiment 15.1-Konyaku Jelly

Awoken to the sounds of the doorbell this morning. Vanitha and Stranger have decided to come over sans warning and ransacked(exaggerating) my stack of SPM books. The Stranger appeared to be her 12 year old sister. 12 year old and she's MY height!! MY GOD. Kids these days. [Self note:Get kids to stay away from McD's] So Vanitha set her eyes on the gigantic stack of books, she asked, "Are you charging?" It was a time to make up my mind, should I be calculative or manipulated? I came to the best conclusion:"3 bucks for each book below 7!" I am hereby RM24 richer.
Allow me to do a Barry:
Huzzah!

As Vanitha was going through my 4 foot stack of books, I asked her 12-year-old sister, "So, aren't you bored..do you wanna read a magazine or something? I've got Seventeen![thinking that that's what young adolecence these days would like]". "No, sorry, don't read magazines," replied 12 year old Stranger. "Um, so, what club do you plan to join next year when you come to SMKSU?Perhaps Interact? Leo?" asked I, in a pathetic attempt to make conversation while Vanitha mentally calculates how broke she'd be. "No, I don't think so. Stupid club. Wouldn't want to waste my mother's money on uniforms like tie and such. Nope," she replied. Vanitha's eyes flickered across the sea of Kimia-Bio-Fizik-Bm-Maths-Addmaths and muttered, "She was the secretary of the Interact club lar, sis." Thank you.
"So... okay. Stupid it is. What club would you(may your majesty) prefer then?" I interogated further.
"PBSM."

Awaited Esther for a good coupla' hours as the word "ffk" slowly creeps into me. Turns out that there was some downtime that she was having with her dad. Understandable. All activities must be put on standby as feuds cool off. I forgive you, Estee.

Picked up She Dee and headed off to Pyramid to meet up with Li Peng, Edison, Kim Zen, Kim Swee, Jiun Haw, David, Jason and tall guy from lambda..(can't remember his name, sorry tall guy!) Apparently they were waiting for us to have lunch! I felt so bad! [Flashback-->"Mum!! I can't finish my lunch!!..Bubbles! Do you want my wan tan meen?"] Met Mindee, Manda, Mervin, Jude and One SJ Guy. Exchanged air kisses with Mindee! We watched Looney Tunes till about 4..Brendan Fraser has SUCH a hot body. I can just imagine him as my pillow. *SIGH* Jenna Elffman's acting is soooo goddamn fake. She should just stick to Dharma and Greg. Sit! That's a good girl.

Finally bought Frontpage Express.. Ah, now I can put up music on any of the websites that I want to create. Headed off with SHe Dee to Giant to pick out ingredients for Konyaku jelly for tomorrow's standard 6 class party reunion. Jocelyn won't be going tomorrow..*SOB*. Mum requested that I buy her a six-pack....toiletroll. Lugging around grapes, canned longan, konyaku powder, she dee's family size loaf of bread and the six-pack toilet roll.. I certainly didn't look the part especially in my a-foot-above-the-knee denim skirt. I'm not going to call it a mini. It's not a mini. Met Ji Yang and Chun Guan at Starbucks. "Ah eh! Didn't know you got married? One week after SPM and you are married! Why never invite us to your wedding ar?" said Ji Yang of the Cheeky Ones. He was referring to my multiple plastic bags containing grocery items. LOL. And the toilet rolls too. I must've looked like a housewife. Poor She Dee and I!

After the (daily)Chinese Shows Marathon.. I proceeded to the kitchen to whip up some KonyAkU!;P. Not too bad if I may say so myself. But we'll see if it's safe to eat tomorrow. When it's all harden and less disgusting. Barry! Pay half the bill!!

Going to Taylors' Open Day tomorrow at 10am. The time now is 4am. What's up with me these days??? I blameth thee, Laptop (Christianed by Mel: Lolita Isabella!).

Can I Scream?

Barry told me my blog was dull.

I am so going to spice it up. I've spent hours online trying to get the perfect midi (I've settled on Brandy's The Boy Is Mine), uploading the beautiful images of Douglas Lim and Carlos Ng..in vain and am still trying to learn how to change the background colour. But I have settled for the templates that they have. Whatever.

With my new obsession, I only climbed into the warm sheets at approximately 5.10am yesterday.

If it wasn't for esther, I would not have to wake up in the middle of the night (1 o'clock in the afternoon) today. I nearly received an earful of "JO!! TURN OFF YOUR STUPID ALARM!!" and a little of "JOLENE!! WAKE UP IT'S 11AM". MY dad can't stand my alarms.(Yep, one alarm, one handphone). Nokia, they have the worst kind.

The family and I were invited over for a Hari Raya visit by the Malay family next door. These people have been living for nearly two years..(through the times when we were thinking that they were actually extreme arrogant human beings and there they were thinking that grandma was actually our foreign maid[they dare not predict the nationality]. Grandma says that she is quarter Burmese or summat. Great granddad was a former lover of the Queen of Siam or summat. Always claimed that she was this close to being a princess as when her dad passed away, the queen wanted to capture her and bring her back to the palace so that she could see her lover in my grandma's face everyday. Okay. But I don't think Alzheimer's  strikes someone at 65?)

As we walked into the house, the brother and I reminisce about 1995. 8 years ago there was this Persian man who lived there with his Indian wife. They had a niece who comes over during the weekend. 6-year-old Mervyn would often be chased around the house and then pinned to the ground for a good one sided make out session by the little Punjabi girl. My memories of her was staying over at her aunt's place with her and got really hungry together in the middle of the night and found a packet of uncooked spaghetti on the bedside table(whatever were they doing in a bedroom in the first place) and had a nice time making little stick-cum-spaghetti human beings while munching on some overselves.

Back to the Malay family, they are actually quite nice people! A whole family of teachers. Plus they are all teaching in the same university. They have a son who reminds me of my tuition mate, Zul. This guy's quite friendly and not bad looking. Now why haven't I seen him around before? Guys like these are hard to come by especially among my dad's friends' sprogs. I mean I've seen a fair amount of teenage boys who are sons of family friends who carries the usual baggage of teenage angst or rather the Nicholas Chan Shyness Syndrome.

Spent the next part of the afternoon by dropping my aunty off to Assunta Hospital to have her breast augmentation. She had breast cancer last year that's why. I journeyed through the air-condition-less corridors and tried to make it feel a big deal that this was where I lived my first days. I was born in Assunta Hospital! Apparently the doctor who delivered me was still working at the hospital. I don't suppose I'd get a "Wah!! Big girl already ah!" from him if I see him?

Really regret renting so many tvb series. I couldn't finish them and they were due tomorrow. *SOB*

I was at Tai Thong just now having dinner and suddenly my handphone rang. "Hello Jolene! You wouldn't believe this,".. Yes.. did I win something again?? "This is Vanitha!".. *Lil' bit of history: Classmate of mine in standard 2 and standard 3*.. "Oh hey Vanitha! Wassap?" "Um, I was just wondering ah, If I could come and see what spm books you have?", there I was posting my ad online (I stacked up my books and took pictures of them and sent them out to all those whom I think may be interested in purchasing them) and here comes an old friend whom I have no email address of. How can I make money this way? Would it be right to still charge her? :(

Had some fun with my new hair straightener/crimpler/curler..(It's a six-in-one!). I tried out the goldilocks style.(Ringlets). All I can say is that thank god I've got a straightener in it too.

Hi, my name is Jolene and if there is a question in your head, this answer will definitely answer it: I was wrong and irrational. I was being a woman.

Jolene Lai, Jolene Lai,
Came to life in January and not July,
She is 19 years of age,
Can't wait to earn her own wage,
This dental student is home sick,
Will never be in Kedah for more than three weeks.

Subang Jaya is where she's from,
The only place she'll ever call home.
Has a boyfriend, a brother and a dog,
The things she says can give you a shock.

Especially for her father, who always gets a heart attack when he reads this blog.

Hey, rhymes!
