Major Shopping Trip

Was so tired after a long day scouring the entire Sungei Wang for the best purchases our allowances allow. My legs were aching so bad, cramping right up to the thighs. But it's a happy feeling! I've had one of the best day outs ever in a loooong time. Yeah, bloody 7 weeks of examination. :)  We walked into (almost)every single shop that appealed to us and tried on almost ANYTHING that appealed to us. I haven't been this happily tired in a long long while.

Abby and Mel were supposed to come over to my place at 8-ish yesterday morning. But because of Mel's grandfather's death(my condolences), she felt bad about visiting me because of the belief that a family member of a deceased should not visit anyone's home within a hundred days of his death. Chien cleverly derived a plan that would allow Melody to NOT step foot into anyone's house and for her mother not to have to go all over Subang picking us up plus Jian Yung from tuition. The girl sent her driver to my place with her MPV(or SUV?) and Abby and I were jakuning at her cool video thingie on the dashboard(?) that has some cool GPRS(?) system that shows the map of Japan and a camera behind the car when you reverse. Hopefully all Malaysian cars will have that in 10 years' time or less. After that the driver picked Jian Yung and Melody up before proceeding back to Chien's place to pick Chien and her mum up.

It was a fun ride there, talking about Melody's mafia family(apparently her ancestors are buddies with Yap Ah Loy) and the weird traditions at chinese funerals. Not to mention that 7th day belief. Very creepy.

Side tracking for awhile, this is my new set of Sandylion Stickers I bought from Memory Lane on Tuesday after my biology paper at Pyramid when I went to have lunch with Esther and Su-Hsien at KimGary's.

School themed!!

One for the sticker album!

The drive down to good ol' KL.

Poor Liss was already waiting for us at Sg.wang since 9am and she called us at 9.30am+ to hurry us and to complain about the baby cockroaches around. -_-". We reached Sg.Wang at 12noon and the first stop was Vincci. Wasn't really amazed at Vincci's new additions despite my 7 weeks away from them. Nose gets me more excited. I don't know why.

Melody puts the MEL in Imelda.

This was taken from inside my changing room.
l-r: Abby, Hsien and Liss.

A white spaggeti dress wth pink flowers .. looks like a tube dress doesn't it? :D It's good that I brought my camera. To take pictures of dresses I cannot afford(physically, financially, mentally) to buy as of yet.

The bra I was wearing with the new halter that Chien and hsien got for me from Padini was SO uncomfortable, so I decided to go 'free&easy' as usual and the lot of us went into Watson's to purchase our necessities. I bought my nipple sticker which is just your average surgical tape, but it works well for me:). Next on my list would be to purchase a pair of adhesive bra. Silicon packed, no straps(meaning no support..oh well) and sticky to boot. <3 <3.

Glittery Hair mascara in SASA!! Only RM18. Think I'll get it the next time I'm there. Was sneakily swiping streaks onto Liss' and Abby's hair. Took out my camera to snap a few pictures in the shop and was scolded by this stupid sales assistant. I politely smiled and said, "Sorry ar, sorry!" and she didn't reply my smile. :( :(. I'm not happy with that..~!

Sungei Wang looks quite messy come to think of it. But it's so full of things, that the whole point of going to Sg. Wang is to slowly sift through the throngs of clothes racks and trinklet baskets finding that "got-feel" purchase. Most of you girls will know what I'm going on about. When you see that certain top, you can't just BUY it, you need to have a FEEL for it. You need to have a wanting for it that when you look at it an hour later, you can heave a happy sigh. Now THAT is feel.

At about 2.00pm, we demanded lunch and guess where we ended up? Kim Gary! Again! It was so packed though. We took turns lining up and shopping and lining up and shopping.

Kim Gary,Sg. Wang. Ugly shot.

We finally found a place and at one of the comfy booths too!
l-r: Mel and Chien. Notice how prominent her brown streaks are?! How can you have naturally brown streaks?!

l-r: Mel,Chien and Liss

l-r: Abby, Hsien and Myself

I think Kim Gary is one of the best places to sit and gossip with friends during lunch/dinner.

Mel's french toast with honey, butter and peanut butter! We had that the day before too at Pyramid. *groan*

My Soup Noodle with Chicken bits and preserved vegetable. Don't like the preserved vegetable though. The rest was okay! Not too bad.

After a hearty meal, we resumed our shopping frenzy.

One of my greater loves; Earrings!! My god, cheap cheap cheap earrings. 3.90, 4.90, 5.90.. 15% off on earrings above RM5. I bought two pairs from this place.

A top that reminded Chien of a dinosaur.

Baa-di-ya.. dancing in September..Baa-di-yaa.. Never was a rainy day..*boogies*

Actually there was a nicer pose when they were all bending over applying their lippies and lip gloss. Hehehe.. stupid girls don't want to hold the pose for me.

Went into this place called Seduce or something like that. Hehehe, I tried on this RM200 corset and it could hardly zip all the way(half zipped) but just for the heck of taking a picture. ;) Hahaha.. and yes, it comes along with boobs.

Ah!!! The more I look at this top the more I want it. It gives the illusion of a longer torso which I want and it's got that twisted bit in front and it ties to the back like a tube but it also holds up like a halter. However, for a Sg.Wang top, it's RM44. Abit of a rip-off for a top if you ask me. But I've thought the matter over. FEEL is stronger than FINANCIAL RESTRICTION. Law of shopping: F>FR ..hahaha!
Chien's heading to Sg. Wang tomorrow and I've already printed a picture of this top for her to see so that she can get it for me! However it's a bloody M, they don't have it in L. But it's oklar..I really like it! I showed the picture to my classmates this morning and Miss Quek(my chemistry teacher) was looking on also and asked, "What's competition is that?" and I was like, "Huh?! Haha, nolah, teacher, it's a changing room." She must've saw the red curtains...hahahaha. "Then so fast getting ready for prom already ar?!" and I was like, "hahaha, teacher!! Nolah!! Where got wear like that to prom wan!" LOL!!

Hehehe, taking advantage of the red curtain. We all look weird though.
l-r: Abby, Me, Liss.

Statement Shirts!!!!!!!!!! The shirts are damn funny. Liss was getting worried for me because she said that I was just staring at the ceiling(that's where the t-shirts were) and smiling and laughing. At the left side of the picture you can see a range of keychains hanging....disgusting key chains at that. There was one of a breast with a hole in the middle of a nipple and when you squeezed it, white slime would come out from the hole! If you think that's bad, get this: An ass, with a hole beneath. You'd think shit right? When you see where the hole is located, it hardly resembled an anus, and when you press the bumcheeks, white slime would come out. Even for my standard, I was very disgusted. There was an alien with holes in his face and green slime that popped out when you pressed his head.

On to more shops!

Hsien tried on loads of dresses and I made her take this picture. Teehee!;D I love the little chandelier. It adds that classy look to the picture. Plus the red carpet!

Sg. Wang is LALA Heaven. It's in these shops that you can get a good buy and at some shops you can even get a bargain! A few months back when I went with Chien, I managed to get my white transparent bag for RM29.00 from RM30.00. Not too bad, considering how paiseh I am when it comes to this. But I'm getting the hang of it.

Chinese bags meant something to me awhile bag. It's novelty is running out on me. But it depends.

Famous Amos' Ice-cream!! *Salivate*

8th Avenue is this chinese shop that sells all kinds of chinesey stuff from cushion cover to chinese pyjamas. I love this place. It's so affordable. You'll never believe what I bought from there.

See the price tag? RM18. 0_0. SO CHEAP..
This is the ancient chinese camisole..that is just damn sexy(not to mention slutty). I bought a slutty looking white one. Hahahaha. I can wear it with a jacket or a blazer. And just pose in front of the mirror and put it back into my wardrobe. -_-".

LALA galore!! Shorts at RM8.90!? Perfect for Langkawi, but unfortunately they were not short enough. Really nice place with cheap cheap clothes.Mel and I need some "serious" clothes, such as tailored shirts(RM17.90!!) and stuff since she might be doing her internship at Seventeen and I'll be doing an attachment at Sunway Medical in December..therefore, I have no choice, but to buy clothes. *nods grimly*

I like buying cheap funky clothes because they are not at all timeless and you don't wear them often and chances of it falling apart is slim. So, don't judge me! Cheap=Larger quantity.

Me and my purchases.. it was already dark out when we ended our shopping trip at 7.30pm. Our feets were killing us. But it didn't matter, shopping is so fun!

One of Mel with abit of the KL lights.

It's a cake, which I think looks like Tugu Negara at Lake Garden.

It's a wedding cake shop! Naturally Chien was drawn to it like a bee to honey.

I've always felt happy looking at this corner because it always meant that I'm out in KL having a great time, away from books.

A random shot with one of the twin towers and the hustle and bustle of the evening crowd.

We took the monorail back to KL Sentral and then the LRT to Kelana Jaya where Kevin and Chun Meng were waiting for us to go for dinner at William's. The poor boys(the rest who were at William's) were so nice as to wait for us for dinner. When I took this shot, Hsien said, "Jo, I don't know you!".
*Suddenly notices something in the picture* EH! EH! I thought there's no intimacy allowed on KTMs,LRTs and Monorails? Isn't the fine like RM500?? Look at the girl in pink and the guy in white. I have evidence. ;P

Poor Liss had to go back alone because her parents wanted her home for dinner. She was on the other side of the ..er,tracks.

Even I know how to feel embarassed about using flash in an LRT. That's Hsien posing for me. Thank you, Hsien.

We arrived safely at the LRT station in Kelana Jaya, feeling better getting away from the other commuters(very crowded) and met up with Kevin and Chun Meng. When Kevin saw me, he said, "Hi ! How are you? Your front has shrunk!" To which I promptly replied, "That's because I'm not wearing a bra. Easier to shop. No restrictions." It's true, wouldn't want my bra to be exposed to the rest of the world as the halter is abit loose behind and the bra band keeps riding up.. so yeah, I was like, fuck it, and slapped on the nipple stickers(surgical tapes). But Kevin's greeting was still damn funny. Not offending. Funny.

When I fished out my camera from my bags, the rest were like, "AIYOH, PUT IT AWAY LA.." so I had to use night vision to capture these shots. :(
l-r: Hsien, Chien, Barry and E-Guy.

l-r:Kay Hong, Kwo Kuang, Nigel and Chun Guan's arm.

l-r: Chun Meng and Abby

l-r: Me and Mel.
Chun Meng said his hands were shivering when he took this shot because he was disgusted at my biting-the-fork pose. :(

That's Kevin in orange at the far end. We try to make this a habit, this dinner thing. It's good we ate at Williams though. Why, all the more money to go shopping again with, my dear. It's better than going to some high-flying restaurant ala Valentines' Day(but it WAS Valentine's Day..so..) and paying RM50 for our meals. Heartache. Heartache. Or paying RM50 for karaoke at Redbox for no reason. Heartache.

So sweet right?!! Chun Meng cutting Abby's food for her. Hahahahaha.

Bad Chun Guan don't want to take picture with me.

So loving right? And his expression is so adorable, so intensely concentrating on swirling her fettucini onto her fork for her.

Soon after, Chin Ju and Chooi Chuan arrived. He was making funny sign languages at Kevin who was seated about 8 seats away from him about how he doesn't have a smoke with him because it's not right to smoke here, as he shouldn't be smoking, because of some complex reasons.. and all this with motions of his hands.

l-r:NIgel and Chun Guan.

l-r:Mel and Chooi Chuan

There was a cockroach on the floor and we tried to fit all our feets on the metal bar.
l-r: Mel's Brand New Puma, My Nose Flats, Abby's Shopping Flats.

Kay Hong cut his hair. He decided to go for the good boy look for prom. He's been asking me whether he should have the bad boy cut or good boy cut for prom for a few months now.

Me posing with my new earrings which are the same colour as William's cup.

Kwo Kuang also so bad.. but it looks like I'm shaking him eh? hahaha

Hsien, who doesn't know I took this picture. Heeeeheeehee.

We met Jocelyn and Smalls there. They conveniently converted me into their Jedi Hood.. which I'm still not quite sure what it is until now. I am apparently Jedi Jo and we will be meeting up at Chien's house for a session of light saber fun. Right.
clockwise from l-r: Chooi Chuan, Smalls, Chien, Me and Jocelyn.

Reached home nearly at 11pm and unloaded my purchases from the bag. I meant to blog last night but was too tired...

I bought this top for RM12.90, not allowed to try though. It fit me, but it's abit snug at the sleeves. Which is alright because it is pretty stretchable. I love the hole at the back. *naughty smile*

Ah, a nice and simple white tailored shirt. To replace my poor Padini one that I out grew(buttons bursting at the chest. Ahem.). Only Rm19.90!! Not bad right?!

A mini skirt. Fitted perfectly. It's RM25, which I felt was abit too much for a LaLa piece. So I asked the lady if it was alright I brought it down to RM20. She said no. But since I quite liked it, I took it anyway. I went to the cashier and he looked at the skirt and just typed RM20.00 into the till. Hahahaha. YAY. It's either he's very nice or he's getting old. Same thing happened to Melody when she bought her shoes last week. Hehe.

After coming out of the monorail, I realized I've lost one of my earrings. It's so saddening as it was one of my most favourite earrings because it was just so me. Even my braces are in the same colour co-ordinations.

If any of you find the other half in any of the changing rooms in Sg. Wang, please tell me.

On the brighter side, I now have two new earrings. But I still like the one I lost alot.

OOH-er!! This is the chinese camisole I bought from 8th Avenue. hahahaha. Isn't it damn slutty?!!?

I put on my old Interact BOD blazer with the camisole inside. Don't mind the shorts. Hehehe, I will think of where I can wear it too.

I think I'll get a denim jacket.

As I was uploading the rest of the pictures into my shutterfly account, I received an sms.

:) Indeed, Chien, indeed.

Eliminated From My Bedroom

Survival of the fittest. The best (wo)man wins. My grandmother fell asleep on my bed before 11pm. A time I deem so absurd to be asleep. But the poor lady could not sleep till about 2am last night because she was not used to the transition from her house to my place. So I guess she must've been really tired. I'm still weirded out by the fact that she wants to sleep with me in my room, on the floor(with a sleeping bag of course, I'm a good grand daughter ok), when there are two empty bedrooms with soft beds at her disposal. =\.
So here I am, on the king size bed in my parents' room. I can roll a grand total of four times without falling off the bed! Whee! And I'm using my Dad's "street-facing" study area to blog this.

...and so her bed tousled hair gets caught in the night wind as she looks out the window to breathe the scent of forming dews, the wind chime cling-clangs softly in rhythm to her breath, the cool of the air-condition mixes with the chilly november night air, sends a lovely shiver down her smooth back..the night is silent save for the soft clicks on her Acer Travelmate 290 notebook keyboard as her fingers fleet across allowing her thoughts to appear upon the ocean blue screen glaring fiercely in the darkness of the room.....

Haha.

Throughout the day, my grandmother complains about the loads of clothings there are that need to be washed and she sits on the couch with a sad look on her face and I feel so compelled to cheer her up by asking her if she wants me to cut some oranges for her or making her a cup of milo. I don't know why she looks so sad when she comes over to take care of us. She's so much happier when my family and I go over on weekends to my grandparents' home in USJ3. Which is why I feel a little guilty by going out the entire day and leaving her at home, leaving her feeling oh-so-bored. She doesn't even find TVB dramas interesting! 0_0. How could a chinese grandmother not find TVB dramas interesting?!!

My mum assigned us chores before she left for China and my brother was supposed to be in charge of the dishes. As always my brother will be addicted to his computer/play station and it'll take an hour the least for him to come down to settle the chore. You know how grandmothers are. They can't stand the sight of a mess. After 5 minutes without hearing my brother thudding down the stairs, my grandmother would proceed to the kitchen sink and do ALL the dishes. My brother would come down, feeling so guilty.. procrastination is the curse of our generation.

I'm also worried about my grandfather who is staying alone at home. He's got this lungs problem you see, and needs an oxygen concentrator-a machine that pumps a steady amount of purified oxygen into his nostrils. The night he was diagnosed with COPD(Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease), I was just done with that chapter in my bio textbook. He's doing well, he is. Just that he needs that oxygen concentrator. He still drives around and buys us lunch for these few days. Just worried he might get another attack.

The first day my grandmother was here, my brother went out to Summit with his friends and I had exams in the afternoon. My grandparents are not used to the prominent absence of the two of us in the day. My grandfather called almost every hour to find out if my brother was back already. Everytime I answered the calls he would nag about how the brother shouldn't be going out so much as it's dangerous..bla bla bla. He appears at night with Ramli burgers for us and more oranges. Very nice of him, yes. But he insists I eat the Ramli burgers as soon as possible, right after a hearty dinner I just had. =\ Plus, the Ramli burgers were spicy. That's the thing with my grandfather, he loves us, yes, he buys us too much food. Very persistent that we eat it. ...

And that's why I am who I am today. *pokes stomach and heaves a sad sigh*

.. oops, I just thought that my Dad's tiger balm jar was my mouse.. Hahahaha..too used to my room's enviroment.

Even when I went swimming with esther and only came back about 7.30, after sky dark that is, my poor grandmother would be worried sick. Thank goodness I arrived before my grandfather or else I'd definitely get an earful from him. Honestly, his naggings are non-stop. He's nag you throughout your 8.00-10.30pm chinese serials.. he'd nag nag nag nag nag nag my grandmother abit, and my grandmother would give him a sour look, and then he'd change the topic to a lighter note ie. complaining about the government.

I suppose they are just not used to seeing me and my brother with such liberation. Haha, but compared to many many years ago, they are pretty easy on me already. I remember when I was 3, I was not allowed to play with a girl from across the railway tracks(in Section 18, Petaling Jaya), because she had ticks in her hair. I was also not allowed to play with other kids in case they stole my toys. -_-". Very restricted. Then came the era of kidnapping children, this got both sets of grandparents worried sick. My maternal grandmother would follow me around when I ride my bicycle around my neighbourhood when I was in primary school. -_-".

It's weird that my parents have not called. Hmm.

On a brighter note, the damn exams have ended therefore... BIG SHOPPING TRIP TO KL WITH THE GIRLS TOMORROW. WHEE!!

Wedding Bells

Yay! It's the second last day of my exams and just one more papers and I will be liberated!! I can do anything I want!

Actually I already did whatever I want. The bloody exams was a bloody 7 weeks ordeal that I didn't even feel or let alone, remember that I had exams. Nights after nights of yam cha session, days after days of swimming trips.

I'll be going swimming with Esther and Eunice in a while. As I promised, I was supposed to upload a million pics, well here it is! My parents are not in at the moment, so if anybody want to go yam cha, count me in! :) Mum's spending a week in China, Dad's in Singapore for work. However, Grandma is staying with me and she insists to sleep with me in my room. Got two empty rooms too. Nevermind, I will protect my grandmother who is afraid of the dark. She predicts that my brother will want to sleep with us too. Little does she know that it's been so many years since my brother has moved out of that "i'm scared to sleep alone" phase.

Alright then, before I leave for a good soak at Villa, let me tell you about my Saturday. I woke at 5.50am and we piled into my Dad's car and started off to KLIA to send my mum off to China for a week with her relatives. The Singaporean and American relatives will be meeting them in China. The Malaysian relatives would be grandma(mum's side), 12th grand uncle, 12th grand aunty number 2, 12th grand aunty number 3, third aunty who is the love child of 12th grand uncle and 12th grand aunty number 1, one cute uncle who is the love child of 12th grand uncle and 12th grand aunty number 2, another uncle who is the love child of 12th grand uncle and 12th grand aunty number 3.

If you must know my position in the Ho family(mum's side), I'm 5.7.5.1. There used to be an alphabetical and numerical system but it was abolished when the aunties grew too old to remember during gossips.

I'm the 5th greatgrandmother's 2nd son(who is the 7th child in the entire family)'s 5th daughter's 1st daughter. AHAHAHAH. Slowly think about it. I have 5 great grand mothers. Beat that. Oh, wait, i have the essential 3 more. Hah! Beat that!:D 8 greatgrandmothers. Thank goodness Great Grandmother's Day do not exist.

I made my mum promise me to be good and put on some socks if it gets too cold. She packed so few clothes because she wants to "travel light". -_-". Hope she makes use of her credit card there. (for her own good and MY own good too. teehee!)

The amount of people at 7.00am at KLIA was crazy.

A blurry image of me amidst the hustle and bustle.

Nyahahahaha.. my brother and his Terminal-esque picture.

My brother wants to tell you guys that he's cool. I'm telling you he's pan kan(pretending to be) cool. :D :D :D

Just before we left.
l-r: Mum, Dad, Me, Grandma from mum's side, Mervyn

Cute tour guide!! But my brother did not want to embarass himself by using the flash. Hence this.

After that, we proceeded to this 'malaysian' restaurant downstairs and we ordered an American breakfast each. The bread is rubber, the BAKED beans is cold, the bacon I didn't try because this plate belongs to my brother, mine did not have bacon(On my mission to lose weight. Ok, you can stop laughing now.) The only edible thing was the miniscule egg. Pretty disgusting.

I only managed to finish studying my biology syllabus at 3am the night before and waking up two hours later is SO not me. Besides, I had a long day ahead of me. This is me showing you I'm trying to get a little shut-eye. Was actually just posing for this pic. Doesn't it look natural? ^_^..ok, I should stop with the Japanese Emoticons.. ugh.

Dad insisted we took one of him because he has never had a picture of him driving before.

After coming home to bathe and recharge the camera, off we went to Shah Alam for my Uncle Ewe Jin's wedding. This would be the tea ceremony. It was held at 10am. So early!! It's practically in the middle of the night. I was so surprised people actually wake up at this time on Saturdays. Just kidding. I'm not that much of a log.

The nice joss sticks were put up since there's a wedding going on. Don't ask me to elaborate. Don't know how to.

The family or rather, extended families preparing the refreshments and getting the cameras ready etc. etc.

Faraway, a honking sound could be heard. Someone yelled, "San leong tou! San leong you!"(literally Bride Arrive! Bride Arrive!) .. so we, The Ones With Cameras, immediately positioned ourselves for great shots. That's part of the entourage. The first car would be incharge of honking. The elders were quite particular about not getting in the way of the bride. Something about not banging into her and ruining the fortune..bla bla bla. I tuned out.

The wedding car.

The happy couple: My Uncle Ewe Jin and My new Aunty Michelle. What do I call my Ah Jek's wife? I used to call him Ewe Jin Ah Jek. Someone help me here.

My Uncle Ewe Seng, brother of Ewe Jin, opening the car door for the couple. He receives a red packet for his deed. This is the same guy who opened MY parents' door. He was about 10 at that time. So, shouldn't someone juvenile be opening the door? I thought it's usually the kids' job to open the car. My brother is abit too old already too.

Ah, the beautiful bride. A tube gown. Nice.:)

Just before entering the in-law's home.

*hums the bridal march*

Some of the old aunties passed the couple a bowl of "Tong Yuin". Some wheat/flour balls in syrup. This represents longevity. It's the same thing we Chinese drink when it's the end or the start, I can't remember, of winter. Used to love it, until my grandmother started to put ginger in it every year. Ugh.

My Uncle Johnny(I call him Ku Kong in chinese.. i think it's in Hokkien), lighting the big-deal-joss-sticks at the altar before the couple gives their respects.

The altar. Some are more colourful! See? Even the beautiful Kwan Yin has a new robe on. Even Monkey God has a yellow robe on. Or do they always do? ... sorry. Not sure. Just know it's big-deal-joss-sticks that is more symbolic.

Uncle and New Aunty paying respects to the altar.

The God of Kitchen(Sek Sun-Literally Eat God) should also be prayed to too.

Another close up of the couple.

Aunty Michelle(I shouldn't, but I feel like calling her Michelle, I mean, our age gap is not that huge) getting her make up done.

The brother and I posing for a picture. I'm not sure how the little girl ended up squashed near my brother's armpits. But we shall take it as a sign of good fortune. Little kids popping up here and there in photos will mean many many children in their lives. I created that belief. :)

The couple paying respects to the groom's parents. The bride's parents will have their tea ceremony later when they go back to the bride's home. My grandmother(the three ladies in different shades of pink/red? She's the one in the middle) is the tea lady or in chinese, Tai Kam Cheh. (literally Big Gold Sister. Whatever.)

Just a few minutes of marriage, and Aunty Alice(Kim Po) is already nagging the newly weds.

This is the best part about getting married: Jewelry!! Presented by the groom's parents to the bride. I have no jewelry for my daughter-in-law yet. Damn.

..and many many necklaces.

It's my grandparents' turn!

Just another one.

All the aunties waiting in line for their turn.

Hahaha.. my grandmother looks so cute here. Hahahaha.

Note to self: When I get married, I will install two aircons in my house. They already have one, yet I was sweating and getting oily.

Cousin Shevie also posing for a photo. But she's not sweating.

HAhaha, this is my cousin Angelique. Very cute girl. Also a mini photographer. She's loved by everyone in the same family since she's so adorably young. Chinese French, she appeared in the Infagrow ad or some DHA thingie in the papers recently. Future model in the making. Wowee, two cousins in the business. Older cousin, Ivan, who is currently studying in Australia used to get loads of jobs for chinese new year ads. He appeared in the Tenaga Nasional one with the fan blowing the food, the Tmnet broadband ones and this extremely adorable one in the papers for i don't know what company..but it was a picture of him outside a house in the winter looking extremely chubby and cute donning a traditional chinese costume for winter and the tagline that says, "My friends always ask me why I look like Santa Clause this time of the year." Something about having the CNY spirit whereever you are. His grandmother showed it to us on the first day of the new year.;D

Dad's turn. He gave my grandma, the tea lady,an Ang pow too. Besides the obligatory ones to the couple.

Just to prove to my mother that he remembered to give them the jewelry.

A better one of Dad.

Godmother/Aunty Susie and Godfather/Uncle Alex's turn.

Then it was time for the younger relatives to pay their respects to the newly wed.

I'm quite young you know.

Ah, red packets in the middle of November. Who would have thought?

Cousin Shevie and Brother Mervyn receiving some moolah too!:) Thank you Uncle Ewe Jin and New Aunty Michelle.

My Auntie Soon.

A picture with their beloved niece, Angelique.

Family photo!
Standing l-r: Aunty Audrey, Uncle Micheal, New Aunty Michelle, Uncle Ewe Jin, Uncle Ewe Seng, God Aunty(their God daughter) .. I don't know what's her name. Woops.
Sitting l-r: Aunty Alice, Angelique, Uncle Johnny.

Another picture of the camwhores.
Brother and cousin Shevie.

My family picture with the wedding couple and their parents.
standing l-r: Mervyn, Godfather/Uncle Alex, Godmother/Aunty Susie, New Aunty Michelle, Uncle Ewe Jin, Cousin Shevie, Father Arthur(hahaha, sounds like a priest), Me Jolene! :D
sitting: Uncle Johnny, Aunty Alice, Grandma Maggie, Grandpa Henry

ANOTHER ONE?!

This was how long the tea ceremony was. -_-"

Shevie and New Aunty Michelle. We believe that taking photos with new brides will assure an early marriage, or any marriage at all. Hee, another belief we've created.

Wedding photo of the couple hanging on the wall.

One of me and my new Aunty Michelle.

My Godmother/Aunty Susie with New Aunty Michelle.

Ah, another one. Note: Don't think it's a "sighting", I have, ahem, longish legs, and you won't be able to see my panties easily. It's still my thighs.

Me with the kids. Hahaha. I know they'll hate me for that. 'Cept for the little one.
l-r: me, Shevie, Angelique, Mervyn.

l-r: Uncle Ewe Jin and Mervyn

Uncle Ewe Jin and his godmother, my grandmother.

A funny picture of my grandparents..hahaha.

Aunty Audrey feeding her daughter Angelique some of the catered food.

My brother fell asleep on the furniture and my Aunty Alice put him in a room in the kitchen for a good sleep. This is what happens when you play too much of PS.

He looks so comfortable, doesn't he?

The radiant bride.

On the way home: The other part of my family is in the white toyota.

I went back to go to the salon to wash my hair and got it blow dried. Had a lovely chat with Grace, one of the stylists there. She has this weird tendency of repeating the same questions everytime I visit. Ie. Where am I studying? How old am I? What do I want to do in the future?

The family and I arrived early(at about 6pm) to help out with the preparations.
I was put at the registration counter. How fun! I'll get to meet cute guys and know their names and handle money too! Joy! Sadly, they're all more than 10 years older than me. :( Only the waiters are closer to my age. But let's not even go there. I've got a duty to do. *acts diciplined*

Me hard at work.

Let's pretend I'm walking down the aisle, shall we? Another self created Chinese Belief that will ensure me a good chance in marriage. Haha. Shut up, Jolene, don't be so sad!

The red carpet. With hungry aunties dotting the left and right tables.

Number 2 is my absolute favourite. This is the only thing I look forward to during weddings.

The wedding guests were arriving steadily. Auntie Soon and Uncle Julian(He doesn't want me to call him Uncle, oh well.) arrived to help me out too!
l-r: Auntie Soon,Me, Uncle(?) Julian.

The camwhores looking nicer in this picture. That's cousin Shevie by the way.

Can't you just smile, Mervyn?

Typical chinese dinner. Late guests.

A view of the swimming pool of the Kota Kemuning Country Club.

l-r: Uncle Ewe Jin, Cousin Shevie, Uncle Ewe Seng.

This pic was supposed to contain only Shevie and my Godma/Aunty Susie. My father and I jumped in at the last minute. :)

One of me and my cousin Fiona. Fiona Khoo, any of you know her? Very active in Christian Fellowship events and such. She just got back from the UK after completing her studies.

Ah, Angelique looking beautiful in white as one of the three flower girls. She's 4, the other flower girls are 2 and 3.

The bride in her very nice evening wear. This is when the main dish will be served.

Dad and Aunty Lucy. My Godma's Godma.

First dish.*salivate*

As I was happily nibbling(yes, I now nibble, not gobble, but nibble.) some prawns, Uncle Johnny(the groom's dad) came to the table to 'borrow' me for awhile to help with 'some stuffs'. I later found out that I was needed to count the angpow money!! I felt so honoured. My brother joined me later. I suppose Uncle Johnny needed to see if he was trustworthy enough. Hehehe.

Mucho moolah yo!

Coins even!! Can you believe the trouble some people go through just for that perfect combination of numbers which will deliver the perfect message? It's another Chinese thing.

I did not at any point feel very attracted to the money. I'm a good person. Yes.

Money, money, money.

Auntie Soon spreaded out the money for me so that I can make my point clear.

&%&$(&*&(%%.... another reason to get married. Won't have to foot the dinner bill.
The total was Rm22,777.88.

My Dad loves me so much. He reserved two bowls of sharksfin soup for me! My grandfather too! (points at the plate of prawns)

This is when the bride and groom goes on stage with their immediate families to give a toast to the guests.

My toast to the wedding couple.

The rest of the guests' toasts.

One of the flower girls.
Uncle Hock Guan, Aunty Margeret(the one who read my fortune, lol), Baby Niece Alikah(She's mixed; Chinese and Nigerian) and Cousin Shevie.

One with the wedding cake.

Brother was unusually hungry throughout the dinner. This is one of him lowering himself to the extent of scavenging for left overs on the table.

My table with the wedding couple.
Standing l-r: Dad, Cousin Shevie, Me, New Aunty Michelle, Uncle Ewe Jin, Godma/Auntie Susie, Godpa/Uncle Alex
Sitting l-r: Godma's Godma Aunty Lucy, Aunty Lucy's mother: Popo, Aunty Nancy and Aunty Sui.

It took me so long to do this entry. I can now go and get some bio objective papers done and after a goodnight's sleep plus an hour of examination... it's freedom!!!..or so I think.

Hi, my name is Jolene and if there is a question in your head, this answer will definitely answer it: I was wrong and irrational. I was being a woman.

Jolene Lai, Jolene Lai,
Came to life in January and not July,
She is 19 years of age,
Can't wait to earn her own wage,
This dental student is home sick,
Will never be in Kedah for more than three weeks.

Subang Jaya is where she's from,
The only place she'll ever call home.
Has a boyfriend, a brother and a dog,
The things she says can give you a shock.

Especially for her father, who always gets a heart attack when he reads this blog.

Hey, rhymes!
