Sticker Fetish

Note: A few hours after posting this, I was chatting with Amanda about stickers.. so if those of you who have not seen my print screen chat with her, please scroll down.

Those of you who grew up with me would know about my (practically)life long obsession for stickers. But as I grew older, I only continued collecting Sandylion Stickers. Probably the prettiest stickers around. *goes starry eyed*

I started collecting Stickers because my cousin Shevie collected them too. (She's 4 years younger than me.) She started when she was three and I started about the same time as her, so that would be ....seventeen minus seven...*mumble,mumble*..a decade of stickers collecting! My brother started collecting stickers too, but he gave up after a few lousy attempts and I've added them to my collection. Nothing much but ugly Power Ranges/Spiderman/Dragonball stickers.
My love for stickers got so intense that my Dad called me the Sticker Monster. I too went through the stage of pasting stickers all over the furnitures and personal belongings. Very ugly results.

Today Mel called me and told me that she just got back from Pyramid and she has a present for me. I was joyous! Hahahaha.. and she asked me to guess what it was. So I racked my head and screamed, "STICKER?!?!!?!?!!" and she was like, "YES!! SANDYLION STICKERS!!!!" Hahahahaha. Thanks girl. Love you. She knows how much I love Sandylion StickersTM .

You know how some people still enjoy collecting car models and dolls and robots? Well, they only collect a certain type such as Barbie Dolls(the collectibles) and Gandam robots or Transformer robots. It's the same. I don't *just* collect stickers, I collect Sandylion StickersTM. They are quite expensive though which is why I don't buy them all the time. It's like buying yourself teddy bears. It's quite pointless. For a sheet of stickers(about 25-30 pieces) I have to fork out RM4.90/RM3.90? Really. So I only treasure the ones I carried from my childhood and purchase selected ones throughout the years.

Mel suddenly decided to have a yamcha session so she made the calls while I continued my biology studying. She gave me the stickers during mamak and I brought my sticker book along so that she could paste in it. Apparently neither she or Mun Teng wanted to put the stickers in my sticker album. Neither was Joshua, Chien, Dennis or Hsien quite excited about my stickers. :( They didn't want to be associated with stickers. How can anybody not want to be associated with stickers? They said that it was probably because they were 18 and 20 years old already.

Mel took a picture of me going deliriously happy with the new addition to my collection.

Me at Sri Melur(SS19's) pasting my new Sandylion StickersTM into my favourite Sticker book.

She bought me a whole set of sparkly lips. This range of stickers is called Prismatic. It has big round sparkles that makes up the stickers.

Since my sticker book is opened, I might as well introduce you to the other types of Sandylion StickersTM in my collection. You are about to view the best stickers of my entire sticker collecting career. These babies are the best of my lot and have had the honour to spend the rest of their lives in the pages of a Caper Cat(Capalang Hello Kitty) sticker album until another crazy sticker collector offers me a nice sticker in exchange for my prized stickers.

I have three pages of Fuzzy stickers. The Fuzzy range are furry stickers and is no doubt a favourite among Sandylion StickerTM collectors.

Three pages of the Kromekote range. The Kromekote stickers are my favourite because of their bright colours and quirky designs. Don't you just want more Kromekote stickers?? I love them!!

I only have one page of the Mylar range, and not much at that. Mylar stickers have a mother-of-pearl look to it. A pearlish, greenish tinge to it. It wasn't really my favourite as a child. But I actually love all Sandylion StickersTM. Especially now that Memory Lane is restocking a whole new set of Sandylion StickersTM storewide.

Alongside my Sandylion StickersTM, there are a few other quality stickers that I should mention as they also belong in the same sticker album.

These are puffy stickers. They are not Sandylion StickersTM but they are very pretty and cute. Hehehehe,I love to press them!!

The other stickers that I own are all right, but they are not really worth mentioning. Cheap stickers like those that come from Living Cabins and your average stationary shops..ho-hum.
But just so you know how much of a sticker-mad person I am, here are the actual number of albums that I own.

Only the Caper Cat one contains my best stickers:)

I hope I didn't freak you guys out too much.

Even though we keep laughing about how we 'used to collect stickers', every girl out there still keeps her sticker album(s) till today.
Well, it's true because back in std3 we'd laugh about how 'childish' we were for collecting stickers and someone would suggest we bring our albums to exchange stickers.
Come std6 we'd also joke about how we were childish and end up exchanging stickers the very next day.
Come form5, history repeats itself.

I asked everyone about their stickers collecting in college one day. Yes, I managed to get most of the girls in class excited. However, I ended up being the only one who bothered bringing her sticker albums to class. Haha. I'm so sad.

Just so you don't start worrying about me, in the past 4 years, I've only bought stickers about two or three times. So I'm not that crazy. Just a childhood past time.

*updated at 3am*

Inspired by my entry on my sticker collection, Amanda showed me some of her own Sandylion stickers!!

Her Fuzzy stickers.. she even has SNAKE stickers!! O_0

SO CUTE..MOOMOOS!!!

Beautiful Prismatic Unicorns..!!

Close up of the unicorns and a sun at the side.

The prismatic sun.

Ok, will sleep now.

Mamak Induced Thoughts

I just returned from another mamak session with Chee Kiang, Kay Hong, Eu-Foh and Wern Cheen. If only Wern Cheen stayed longer, we would have heard more stories. But the four of us were good enough:) Though there were some odd silent moments but many interesting insights were thrown back and forth across cups of teh ais/teh ais limau.

If there were no such thing as 'respecting people's privacy', I would love to blog about the gossips I've collected from them after months of being apart. So let it only be heard when I'm invited for another mamak session, aye? It ranges from further educations right to gay admirers(ahem!) and childhood memories etc.

There were a couple of cats fighting. Quite scary. One of the cats' injured its tail and it was like bleeding at the tip.

Christopher(Goh) was supposed to join us but he was at the other Tanjung. We were at the USJ9 Tanjung, he was at the SS14 one. Kay Hong was like, "hah? There's another Tanjung?" and we were like, "Yea stupid, we just went there two nights ago." and then he turned around to face a larger than life signboard that looked exactly like the one in SS14. Hahahahahaha.. it was damn funny witnessing realization slowly creeping across his face.

We were talking about girls who were talked bad about and I got curious about what kind of girl would be talked bad about. Apparently the yong sui(literally:face bad) girls who are at the same time nerds would be spared the bad-mouthings, but yong sui girls who are noisy WILL be bad mouthed. Pretty girls who are nice won't be talked bad about. Pretty girls who are not nice will be talked-bad about SO MUCH. To quote Leech: Evil Slut Powers. Hahahaha. Well, apparently there are *some* people who have bad-mouthed me before.(according to Eu-Foh and Kay Hong). Since I'm quite noisy, it ain't that surprising. .. so, just.. *sigh*, assume which category I fall into.

Just another one of those late night musings where you feel apologetic to the world.(Similiar to my poopoo ponderings). So nobody try comforting me okay! Don't need it!:) Just need to be heard.

Su-Chien was telling me her Uncle and Aunty saw my blog and was horrified that such a girl exists. Fortunately her mum was standing nearby and was supporting me by saying nice things about me. Aw, thanks Auntie:). So am I really that scary as a girl?
David was telling me that I should not screw up my own image(by being disgusting). But isn't my honesty about myself that makes people my friends?

Kay Hong was saying that back in form2, he'd see me around and thought I was a senior(*sniff*). He was shocked to find out that I was in form2 also. He said he felt I was very slutty prancing around the school with my hot pants for volleyball and mini clothings as back then, most girls that age were pretty covered up. Hao Jin, my ex-volleyball coach once said, "She think she come for fashion show ar? Everyday wear weird coloured pants." I had a flowery pink pants, army green pants... but why not flaunt it when you can afford it? Only RM5 apiece. Haw Haw.
But the way Kay Hong made me sound is not exactly flattering, but I'd like to think I portray an aura of self confidence. Do I?

He also said that I'm not as hamsap as before(f3,f4,f5). Hahaha. Yeah, I am not afraid to admit this:-

Back then, I smacked guys' asses just to make everyone laugh.(or so I think)
It was an attention grabbing technique.
I admit I'm a loser in that sense.

It got so intense that whenever I see a guy friend's ass I just felt compelled to give it a good smack. It even got so bad (bad habit) that I had to refrain from hitting my relatives' asses. My friends would send me on 'missions' to smack the asses of their own friends. I don't know why I found it so amusing and entertaining. I'm sure some people hated me for that. I take this opportunity to say sorry to you and your bruised bums.

These days, I tell everyone I only do "requests". But even so, everyone has grown up and smacking asses is just so passé. I barely hit asses anymore. I'm proud of that!

Just now Kay Hong was telling them the story about my "chau kong"(exposed) incident during swimming and he was laughing about how he knows I'm the type of girl who will bum around and dig her nose and not bathe for days. W-ell, it's not that true. But am I really that disgusting to you?

My father keeps telling me that if I do not learn some table manners I would be an embarassment to him when I finally meet my future in-laws. It is quite embarassing. Hahaha. He says I should eat like a lady. Well, I'm a lady and I eat. How else is a lady supposed to eat?! .. I use the fork and knife and spoon ..and whatnot. So, I think I'm trying hard to be gentle with my food. Years ago, my cousin Jacqie and I used to pry open oysters in our favourite hotel(Reviera Bay, Malacca) at our own table in the buffet and an oyster would bounce away from our plates to the other side of the restaurant. We'd pretend it never happened and giggle and slop some more lala(oysters)onto our plates. I think you should understand what my father is talking about. It's part of me. I know it shouldn't be.

Should I feel embarassed in making a fool out of myself in the event where I think I'm entertaining? Like for example taking the silliest pictures of myself and trying to entertain the people around me? I wonder how many smiles have I put on faces or how many lunches have I helped regurgitate.

Don't worry, obviously I will not scare the living daylights out of strangers I have only just met with my antics. I am extremely polite to strangers and I'll try to strike up conversations whenever possible. Thousand apologies to close friends for having to witness this type of female in me.

I'm sorry for scarring your mind(and eyes) with my obscene msn emoticons.
I'm sorry for singing obscenely self-modified songs to you guys.
I'm sorry for baring myself to you when I shouldn't. (you know who you are. At least 5 of you have seen that evil sight.)
I'm sorry for embarassing you by making a fool out of myself when you're in my company.
I'm sorry for posting my (literally)toilet humour in this blog.
I'm sorry for smacking your sensitive parts(according to your sex).
I'm sorry for giving you nightmares with my obscenely huge pimples.
I'm sorry for making you sick when you see me eat.
I'm sorry for embarassing you when I wave at random cars on the streets.
I'm sorry for bringing my digital camera everywhere with me and embarassing you in the process.(this is especially for Chien!^_^)
I'm sorry for not bothering to keep my woman problems from your knowledge.(for the guys).
I'm sorry for driving so slow/lousily you feel like taking over the wheel.(especially for Barry).
I'm sorry for putting all the naughty thoughts in your head that your daddy and mummy never wanted you to know.

I have alot of complaints about myself from myself. I know I disgust people. I also know some people like me the way I am even though I'm disgusting. I feel sad when people tell me that there are actually some people who have spoke about me in an unflattering way before.

But don't worry kids, I can't be bothered to change. I'm comfortable like that. So be it. >=P Besides, I'm too old for those teenage angst thoughts of "wAt-Is-My-PuRpOse-In-DiS-WoRlD-SoB-SoB-Life-SArKs!" and those personality adopting trends.

Ah, mind is cleared. Will sleep now! Forced to go Raya visiting tomorrow. Haih. Hope I'll finally be able to get some studying done soon.

Happy Belated Deepavali

I don't care if none of you agrees with me on this, but GOOD MORNING!! It's 12 noon on a Friday with 4 more days ahead of me till my next paper. Don't you just fucking love CIE's examination schedule?

By the way, this is my 200th post. I meant to write a meaningful entry to commemorate this occasion, but I think I'll use it for my blog's birthday! Coming this November 20 something:) You're all invited!

I meant to blog last night(as I would usually do). It would have been an easy task for me since my usual sleeping hours are usually about 2-4am. I know, i know. But I just CANNOT sleep before that! I will just roll in bed and in order to make myself sleep, I will create a silly situation in my head like... something totally weird for example the teddybears from my RUSS calendar comes out to dance with me.. and my subconciousness will immediately take on the task of directing the dream, ahem, and I will proceed to dream about that and of course fall asleep!

Oh, I slept at 1.30am. So amazing. I honestly cannot recall when was the last time I slept before 12am. I don't understand how people feel that the day is complete when they sleep before 12. Really.

Started off yesterday with a physics MCQ paper in college which was only for an hour. Dad fetched Barry and I to college because , well, he was at home. Before I left, I just got really gassy and unabashedly let it rip. "Perekkkk....plap...puuuuurrrrrtt..".. Hahaha. My dad was so disgusted. I just told him, "Better here than the examination hall right?"
Arrived in college despite being Barry's alarm clock only when I reached his house. 0_0

The invigilator was so bitchy haha, he gave us instructions that were so lame and he confisticated the ID cards of those who were making noise in the hall. So strict right? We were saying that he was just bitter about the fact that he had to work on Deepavali..teeheehee. But it was only for an hour, so he shouldn't have been so bitter. Still many hours left for visiting.

When I returned, Dad took the entire family to visit his Indian colleague in Gombak. The residential area is really..very..."gradient"-ey. I would not be happy to go cycling in that area. You put a ball on any point of the road and it would indefinitely roll out onto the highway. Oh, Batu Caves was like, just in front of me. Very nice view. Mervyn said he wished he brought the digicam along.

My parents were secretly delighted that the brother and I would have to eat spicy stuff in order to be polite towards my dad's colleague. I have never been so full from just one meal before. Every bite of whatever I had, I gulped half the glass of water. Between my brother and I we managed to finish two 1 litre bottles of cold water. How embarassing.

In the car, Dad was pretending to be a newscaster from TV3 reporting in his karat-ed malay about how my farts drowned everybody in the entire examination hall. How everybody "lemas dalam kentut berair seorang penuntut di kolej taylors". Something along the lines of "setiap penuntut di beri wang RM20000 sebagai tanda maaf". hahaha.. he don't know how to use word "pampasan". By the way, RM20k is about the fees for the entire A-levels course. And he ended his 'breaking-news' with "tiada seorang yang terlepas daripada kemalangan ini. memang kesedihan." or something like that. Hahaha. It got old already when he tried to be a CNN newscaster.

We went to KLCC to while away the time before the next Deepavali visit. Mum wanted to buy an analog camera for her China trip. Yes, she's going to China without me. She's never been out of the country without me. The only time she's been out of the country without me was before 1987. I'm very bitter about that. I'm also bitter about the fact that Su-Hsien is going to Beijing while I'm still having my exams and when she returns, my exams will still be going on. *grumble-grumble-grumble*.
So anyway, my clever brother made some noise about watching a movie.

It being Deepavali and KLCC on that very day, the family and I ended up in the front row of the cinema killing ourselves trying to stare up the nostrils(or in my brother's words: Up the skirts) of the characters in The Incredibles. Our heads spun like mad, and there was a crick in our necks and our knees felt like jelly when we left the cinema. Never ever sit in the front row ever e
ver again. The Incredibles is SUCH a great show!

As we left, there were a couple of Malay kids who were crying and my Dad asked them if they lost their parents, and wanted to help bring the kids to the information counter but then a woman who worked at Royal Selangor ushered the kids in to Royal Selangor. Well, hope she contacts the parents. We told the information counter about the kids and a security guard too. I hope the parents will find their kids. The boy was about 2/3 and the girl was about 4 or 5. Poor thing.

Visited the company my dad works for for the first time! A labelling company in Balakong. Some schoolkids were doing their holiday-job stint peeling labels at the factory. We were in that area because we were invited over for Deepavali at my dad's office's tea lady's house. A nice woman called Aunty Mary. Now, the food she cooked was much nicer than the first house. Not that spicy also and curry chicken is actually edible! Was still full as I did that thing with the water again. My brother had one too many spicy food throughout the day and he was complaining about an accumulating internal energy(ready for combustion) at the bottom of his alimentary canal. After sitting around and chatting with the rest of the family and playing with their newborn, we decided to make a move before my brother craps in his pants. I didn't know that Indians do not take pictures of their newborns till they are about 6 months old. o_O. Poor baby won't know how she looked like when she was born.

Chee Kiang smsed me and asked me if I wanted to join him, Daryl, pei Sze, Justin and his friend Felicia(who's from Indonesia!) at Starbucks Taipan for a meet up. I love Starbucks Taipan! He picked me up at 9 plus and when we arrived, I was disappointed to find out that my favourite Starbucks is not a hotspot. ;( nevertheless had a fun time gossiping with old friends and listening to Daryl's experience at his Mercedes School. The trainers there sound very evil. Poor Daryl!

The first picture was abit blur..
top l-r: felicia, justin, chee kiang, me
bottom l-r: daryl and pei sze

A clearer second picture!

Oh-haha.. Chee Kiang gave me this because he remembered my toilet reminiscing moments. Excellent! It's a polymer sticker for 'areas'..haha very cute and rubbery.

Decorated my corkboard with my earrings! This is only temporary till I make/find the perfect earring holder.

While I was decorating, I noticed Esther left me a nice message on one of my pinups!:) Thanks girl! *HUG*

Hi, my name is Jolene and if there is a question in your head, this answer will definitely answer it: I was wrong and irrational. I was being a woman.

Jolene Lai, Jolene Lai,
Came to life in January and not July,
She is 19 years of age,
Can't wait to earn her own wage,
This dental student is home sick,
Will never be in Kedah for more than three weeks.

Subang Jaya is where she's from,
The only place she'll ever call home.
Has a boyfriend, a brother and a dog,
The things she says can give you a shock.

Especially for her father, who always gets a heart attack when he reads this blog.

Hey, rhymes!
