Girly Ponderings

*throws the damn thinking skills book out the window.*

Er, wait. I don't think I own any. Oh well. *throws all the notes out the window*.

It's over!! It's over!! No more thinking skills!!!!!!!! Forever and ever.
Fortunately this time there was no extreme period cramps that distrupted my "creative chi". Ya right, don't think the last bit of my paper sounded very smart. Time constraints sucks.
:(

After the paper, I fetched Mel and Hsien to Holiday Villa for a swim. Mel studied BY the pool. I wore my new bikini again! Whoopee! This time this one seems abit more conservative compared to my old one. I think my old one did not "hold" very well. When I wore my old one, Kay Hong told me he went blind and I remember swimming in opposite directions of an old man who was staring at me whilst I crossed his path and I swam back and a 12 year old was staring at the same spot when I crossed HIS path. Today the boobs didn't really scream for attention.(this means no weird people swimming opposite me and still staring..haha) Well in place, my dear blubbers, well in place. The old one is more like an elastic pink boob tube.. so when I swim (I'd be horizontal), obviously it kind of falls out right? Am I being too graphic here? .. I kind of miss my old one though. It was unique. But Chien said "Save the world from your obstusity.(Is that even a word? What she meant was sudut cakah-ness.)"

Proud to say that I did 10 laps! Yes. One lap being UP and DOWN the Olympic sized pool. That means 20 full stretches!! I hope I can keep this up. As I was leaving Villa, the rain started to pour cats and dogs. I nearly wanted to cry when I went up a curb as I was coming out because I could not see where I was going. Then I remembered, "Oh yea, lights and wipers.". I just hate driving in a heavy storm. What if a tree falls on me?

Was surfing around when I came home and suddenly Wan Qi messaged me.

*~::qi::~*: hi jolene how are u
*~::qi::~*: i just wanted to let u noe

junior tells it to u. for example, like what u just said to
              me;)
Miss Lai: *touched* how did I make ur job easier?
*~::qi::~*: well u've got a lot of those secretary stuff u
              gave me remember?
Miss Lai: oh right.. awwww..must thank Evelyn Ng and Gi Gyn for that too..*makes a
             note to self*

Thanks, Wan Qi:) You made me reminisce about the Interact Days.

I also had a worrysome talk with Krystle. But she laughed at most of my worries. I worried about how much I have to give my parents when I start working.. how do I take care of them when they are frail and old..and how much should I spend on education..and will the education I take now affect the quality of my kids' education greatly? and most importantly... how much do I spend on my wedding? hahaha. She was laughing there and telling me not to think so much.

OooH. I was looking through Chien's Seventeen mag.
It's the prom issue and it was a really good read. All the pictures belong to Blu Inc!!

Some of the dresses featured are the ones that I really like! Now that I've been saving since the exams started.. even the Rm200+ dress doesn't seem like much!

Ruffled Chiffon, RM149, Dorothy Perkins. I absolutely love the cutting. The skirt is not straight cut, but abit like a sun dress type of skirt? This could be MY LBD!!!! It will be SO versatile. I think I shall invest in this.

I'd wear it to a dinner.. it's a cleavage pinpointer tube dress. The design's abit frumpy, but I like it!

Basic Print, Dorothy Perkins, RM149.
A bit too Stepford Wife-y. But hey..I quite like it! Maybe the flowery details should be kept to a minimum.

Jagged Edge, Treats, RM109. WOW. So cheap!! I'd definitely get this if they have it in yellow/white/baby blue/black/pink/...er. MAYBE red. Leech, have to say that I've been inspired by the one that you bought from French Blues!(love French Blues, unique fashion!)

Classic Oriental, Urban & Co, RM159. Abby, I know you have the white version of this. I like it so much!!!!...Don't worry girl, if I ever buy this dress, I'll never wear it when you wear it out!.. Maybe I'll get it in another colour. Maybe can be next year's cny dress.:)

This is probably the close I would get to a diamond necklace. When I say diamond necklace, I don't just mean a diamond pendant. I'm talking THAT(points to the top), in REAL diamonds. Hahaha. Dream dream dream. Something similiar would be nice.

Oooo... i think I shall go pink! I have an Uncle's wedding on the 20th of November. I'll wear my peach halter dress.(Yes, the one I bought from Sg.Wang). Look at that! So innocent!! Maybe this is the look I shall attempt. Hmm.

Seriously, RM60 for a pair of earrings? .. Maybe if I was THAT desperate to own *something* Guess..I'd get that. But I KNOW where I can get something that looks exactly like that for RM20. Bead Box, Bonita, Bumcity..I love their accessories.

Chien drew a confused/undecided face next to this skirt. I immediately sms-ed her and told her that it suits her VERY WELL and that she should BUY IT IMMEDIATELY.

Jo: Buy it!! You would look amazing with that cream white skirt by riian jeans!! Hehe, looking at your 17 mag. I need to shop..! Haven't said that in a long time!
Chien: Whoa who are you and what have you done with my Jolene? The real jo does not, I repeat not shop ok!
Jo: I am the shopaholic monster who came out of the mag to possess jolene who's saving money for 7 weeks!
Chien: Why hello there my long lost monster friend! So lovely to see you again, i sure missed you!
Jo: Haha hey hey wasap, the stupid stingy bitch might come back soon, but I'm not sure when. Could meet up with you for expensive drinks in Bangsar while I'm here!
Chien: Oh no but you see i love my jo so i wouldn't want her to freak out when she finds out that her evil alter ego has spent all her money!
Jo: Glad you still remember your friend's true nature. *unzips monster costume* IT'S ME! JOLENE! *hugs* haha, eh tmr how?

hahahahahaha..kebodohan yang tidak boleh diperbodoh-bodohkan... -_-"

So that's how they do it! Good, now I won't look like ..er..a.. fake britney(tee-hee) with this technique at hand.

This look is good too! More on the orange! But the magazine said we should stay off the brown in order to look less weather-beaten.

The source of all this lovely info. Yum!;) If Mable(who comes from Mel's blog) EVER reads this, SEVENTEEN ROX.

Sunny Days, Sweepin' The, Clouds away..

This morning my phone rang and woke me up and a very angry Melody bellowed at me, "See la! Now I must wait until 5pm before I can go home!! FFK ME!!" .. and I didn't know what to say, just saying, "huh.." and "sorry..." and "er.."..which REALLY pissed Mel off when she's, well, already pissed. I remember there was this one time we had a feud over volleyball team selection and I couldn't explain myself because I had this bad cough and was in a coughing fit at the wrong time..which seemed quite fake and left her feeling very mad. (That was one of our one-offs which was solved by Korkorbear(KKB)).

I was supposed to meet up with Esther and her for lunch, trying to live up to our "wednesday lunches" you see. Hmm. Then came a message from Esther saying, "thanks for making me the bad guy, i broke the news to her already." Then I felt bad..and Esther suggested that we just pop by so that she could catch up on JOEY(not me, but the FRIENDS' spin-off). My mum needed me to drop her at the hair salon for a few hours, so I might as well drop by Esther's and get Mel while I'm at it.

The drive to Sunway College was probably one of my most thick skinned driving incidents ever. I made a u-turn near SJMC, and had to do a two point turn because I didn't turn enough, whilst holding up traffic. Geez. At the roundabout(near Sri KL), there was a huge jam, and three lanes of cars were moving slowly. My car was in between the the 1st and the 2nd lane. Fortunately, I NOW dare to signal and cut into lanes. *takes deep breath*. Nothing can be worse than mel's mati-engine moments. hee-haw;D

We did nothing much, just some very mo-liu*nonsensical* things..that we usually do. Watched a couple of Joey episodes, helped them with their blogs' layouts and..of course, taking weird pics that we love so so much.:D Behold!

Esther Phan, Melody Song, I've invaded your shutterfly accounts and taken some photos. Thank you ya!

Mel's being note-sey. (joke from JOEY)

Hahaha..her trademark pening mode.

I was complaining to Mel how dry my lips were and she just snapped a picture. Bitch.

Oooo.. crapbook!! A drawing of the 10 of us, dated 2001, by our DAHLING Amanda.. i think the third from the right is me. Hence the cleavage. Ahem.

Esther rejecting Jolene's "suggestions".

Hey, Aud, a leaf out of your book!

Bangs are so in now, aren't they? Mel and Esther wanted to give me my bangs a trim, to which I responded by sucking aggressively on my middle finger.

I'm kissing Esther's FLOWER. Hm, that didn't sound quite right.

Yes la pretty la.

l-r: Mel, Esther and ME!

Hehehe..there was supposed to be a ribbon bow on the top of our heads..I think I was trying to achieve that toothache look.

Getting jiggy with ol' Patrick.

Patrick's on air-kiss terms with us these days.

I was reading this year's Gemala whilst meditating on the ceramic throne, again. The cover looks similiar to last year's cover. I noticed quite a few of the senior pages are missing. There's always been a pattern for the senior pages. We see the better classes putting more effort into their pages, compared to the lower classes. This year, some of the lower classes didn't even bother to slap on some photos on their complementary black and white pages. (The coloured pages do cost quite a bit..but for those sweet memories, what's RM50?) I noticed almost everything was done by computer, almost the entire Gemala was done by computer. Therefore the quality of the magazine..as in, the printing quality did not turn out that great.

Somehow reading the Gemala 2004 DID bring back those anxious-to-flip-through feelings I had every year when the magazine came out. The monitor would totter back with a heavy stack of Gemalas and we would tear away at the packages anxious to count the amount of times our face appears in the school mag. Okay, maybe that was what I did. :P. But I remember spending endless hours in the school library when I was a librarian in form1 and browsing through each and every one of the Gemala editions. I would be so sad when I noticed a page was torn. Having crushes on seniors SO did not help with my Gemala reading obsession. I'd even attempt to track down siblings of said crushes. Tee-hee. I read every single English article written and read every senior page. I could not wait for the day I see my senior page. The novelty somehow dies of once you've passed that senior page age. I looked back at this year's Form Five, and I just don't feel that thrill. Maybe save for a few good friends...but I just don't believe those captions they have. I used to believe each and everyone of it when I was younger. Hm. Naive.

I do like the bit where they have this "most charming","hot chic", "most annoying" etc etc poll kind of thing. A very good idea that involved the entire population of Subang Utama. Toefl won the F5 most charming guy title. Tee-hee, well deserved my man, well deserved. Ooooh, Mel,Esther and I were drooling at the form1's Most Charming guy. Some guy called Darrel. VERY good looking. I could bite a piece of that hot chicken nugget and nibble him. Ngaum. Haha, woops. He's still a minor, but GUESS what? So am I! Puppy love! Nyahahahaha.

Also noticed that Jiaa Jiaa's been making a tradition to dress up for vocational week. She's become so beautiful! OMG! Very nice! And I was abit horrified to find that my brother was not in his class photo? HELLO?! HOW COULD YOU NOT BE IN YOUR CLASS PHOTO!!!? Geezus.

And Interact STILL outnumbers the LEO! :D The club is so big you can't even see the faces clearly. I like that, keep it that way people. :)

Before I turn in for the night, I shall post somemore pictures.

For me, for exams.
4 down, 8(+1) more to go! Some one drank one of my Brands. Grr. grrrr.

Oooh!! the bikini that Mel and I pakat-ed to buy together-gether. She bought a black and white floral motive one! Go look at it here! Mel's Blog

Oh! And I now have a new Golden retriever puppy!

Just kidding. It's Angel after her grooming session(2 weeks ago).

By the way, I was reading my Dad's toastmaster's ice-breaker speech.
I NEVER KNEW HE WAS THE ONE WHO LAUNCHED THE EVERSOFT FACIAL PRODUCTS RANGE IN THE LATE-LATE 80'S!!

Present? For me?!

Today started off innocently like any other day. I had maths tuition this morning and mum was too lazy to drive me there, so I get to drive the car today. yay.

Went through quite a good session of statistics though I only had about 4-5 hours of sleep last night(THIS BLOG LA.. somehow not very satisfied. hmm). After tuition, E-guy suggested lunch at the Pan Meen shop in SS19. Felt quite happy to go along with that, so I did. Chang Song and E-guy proceeded to SS15 to pick up Liss,Nigel, Chun Guan and Huini.. didn't know they were coming along too, but it was a lovely surprise, nonetheless.

Drove to SS19 myself and received a phone call from Chien along the way. She wanted to tell me something and I invited her along for lunch because I needed to pass her some tuition papers. Hsien came along too.

We then drove into the shoplot area of SS19 and I parked my car near the housing area and walked over to the coffeeshop. After nearly an hour of intense heat and intense chatter, we proceeded back to our car.

Su-Hsien noticed a chinese-moon-cake-type of paper bag hanging at the side of my car. (on the passenger's side).

Hsien: Jo, what's that paper bag hanging there?
Me(thinking it was just rubbish people hung there for fun): I don't know, maybe it's a present from a secret admirer. Ahem.

Chien cautiously reaches for the door with the paper bag... she was peering curiously at it.

Me: Ei chien, check out what is it la!
Chien: Don't want! Scared bomb!
Hsien and I: Haiyoh, open and see la!

As Chien opens it... I said, "KABOOM!"..haha, lame la.. then she looked abit scared and asked me to see.. so I looked.

There was a brown envelope inside. With something inside it.

None of us dared to open the envelope or have any contact with it. You know, what with the SARS/Anthrax/Decomposing stuff..

Was quite freaked out with thoughts of decomposing animals and stuff like that. But the brown envelope looked quite clean and neat .. no stench, no gross liquid... just a brown envelope. So Chien passed me the bag.. and I held it far far away from me and peered into it. I tipped it onto the ground. The brown envelope fell out but it was still reluctant to reveal its mysterious contents.

I prodded the brown paper bag and lifted the seal. I held it up and tipped it over in a swift motion, because I was scared.

And I had every right to be scared.

I BACKED AWAY FROM THE BAG AND WAS SCREAMING MY HEAD OFF. When Chien saw it, she started screaming too! Didn't know if Hsien was screaming, coz we just screaming so loudly!!

IT WAS A FARKIN DICK.. A RUBBER ONE.. A DILDO..WHATEVER..BUT IT JUST LOOKS DAMN DISGUSTING. Sort of like a strap on dildo? With a piece of (rubber)flesh and the dick formed out of, well, foamy rubber. IT WAS A FAKE DICK!!!!!!

For goosness sake, who would hang a fake dick on the car?!!? That was damn scary..hahahaha, we hurried into the car and Chien was screaming at me to just move but I was just sitting there wistful for my camera. I begged them for their camera phones but they didn't want to contaminate their phones.

We went over to MCd's where Chien and Hsien bought ice-cream and finally gave in to my wanting to take pictures of the fake dicky. Hahahaha...

But, when we went back, it was GONE. G-O-N-E. REALLY FREAKED OUT BY THEN... was so worried that someone was trailing us. Don't worry Dad, I put the rearview mirror to good use. Ahem.

LOL, but imagine, what would happen if I had taken it home? LOL..the poor pervert will be like, "Oi, gimme back my rubber dick, bitch!" and I'll have it all nice(?) and solid where I can snap as many good shots of it as I want. Hahaha, but what would they think if my reaction was to bend over and start snapping photos of it? hahahaha.

If I had a picture of it, what you would have seen was, a patch of grass,  near a drain, a mooncake-ish type of paper bag, a brown envelope(a4 size), and a limp rubber dick strewn on the ground. Hope your imagination helps.

Came home to tell the tale to my mother and brother and his friend, harvey. HAhahaha.. even GUYS think it's disgusting. HELL YEA. EW.

Hi, my name is Jolene and if there is a question in your head, this answer will definitely answer it: I was wrong and irrational. I was being a woman.

Jolene Lai, Jolene Lai,
Came to life in January and not July,
She is 19 years of age,
Can't wait to earn her own wage,
This dental student is home sick,
Will never be in Kedah for more than three weeks.

Subang Jaya is where she's from,
The only place she'll ever call home.
Has a boyfriend, a brother and a dog,
The things she says can give you a shock.

Especially for her father, who always gets a heart attack when he reads this blog.

Hey, rhymes!
