10 Years to Worry

Mum and Dad had a wedding dinner to attend at Sunway Hotel and brother had that InTeRaCt GaTheRiNg To AtteNd. Was abit mournful over the thought of having to stay home with a box of hawaiian Chicken all to myself. I wanted to go to SS19 and tapau some chinese for dinner. Mum gave the green light and I felt quite sad, because I'd be having dinner alone tonight. So gave Mel and Esther an sms each, but both already have dinner planned and invited me over. The latter being abit too persuasive.. (Girl, if I go out with you, it means your dad and mum will be paying for my dinner. SHY LA !!!!)

Thought that I've grown up, you see. Thought that Dad and Mum do not bother about my dinner. Me being able to drive, can drive my arse over to 19 to get some edibles for me tummy. Thought that I was no longer their little princess, just because they didn't ensure I had dinner. The world is changing.. I no longer need the parents to spoon feed me with soft food. It's time for hard biscuits. Yes it is. Ngaum.

But when mum told Dad that I was to drive out alone for dinner, Dad immediately said, "Jo, no driving out by yourself after 7.30. Hop in the car and we'll buy you dinner!" So both parents clad in evening attire with baby princess in ratty ol' Taylors' Tee and barely there pants made their way to SS14. I hate SS14's food. But I shall eat what my parents put on the table. *Nods indignantly*

By the way let me rant abit about something. Hmph. We've allowed you to nurture under our wings for the past three-five years. Thought we've set enough examples for you all to follow. The traditions, wasted away. One by one. A tear drop falls. We hath beenth forgottenth. Bah. Nah, maybe we're abit too old for it. :) You little Interactors go on and enjoy your gathering. We're just the bygone seniors who are too old to know what's fun.
It was the traditional Interact Gathering after the Annual General Meeting..waterfights, food, partying etc.etc.

LOL. But it WAS fun making Li Ming twist in his pants for not inviting Me, Mel, Esther, Zhuo Yan, Mun Teng, Amanda, Abby, She Dee, Amni and the rest of the senior-er seniors(Joshua(they wanted Chu not Tan, Tan.), Dennis, Jeh, Ben Shyen,Sarah,Pooi Yoke etc.)... hahaha. It's ok la. Would've love an invitation though. But would not have been able to make it since almost all of us have exams.

Was painting mum's nails for the wedding dinner and was talking to her about who will be invited to MY Wedding. (When it even comes. Heh). I was abit worried because my Dad's only the student of this guy whose kid was getting married.I was like "wha..?"..
For the record, I've got 5 great grandmothers on my mum's side who produced 14 kids in total..granddad being kid no.7.. and each had an average of 4 kids, and each of the 4 kids produced another 2 kids each(exactly 2).

Thank goodness dad's side can be counted properly. My mum's side I need to take out a calculator!!
14x4x2=112. 0_0 112 relatives on my mum's side.

Most of my mums' relatives are spreaded evenly across the globe. A handful in the US, a family in the Uk, a couple in AUSSIE, some in China, a lot in Singapore(though I only go back for weddings..). And speaking of Singapore weddings... everytime I go down, they'd put us up at a hotel. THIS MEANS WHEN THEY COME DOWN WE'LL HAVE TO DO THE SAME. $$$$$$$$$.. argh. Must stay faithful to Holiday Villa now to get a discount then. :P

Let's just say there's about ... 50 relatives on dad's side.

Then I would want to invite all my good friends from high school.
10 people per table right? The girls will have to be split into two because there are 10 of us.. ok, maybe minus one. COZ I'M GETTING MARRIED(FLASHES WEDDING RING). And so i'll need two tables for the girls.. they have spouses, you know. And our darling seniors etc.... and the rest of the guys in our form(you know who you are, you guys are alot, may need to reduce, :P).. some for the classmates.. yeah, that being secondary AND college. :) ...and my other good friends from school.
Hope some of you get married to each other to reduce my cost! Hmph!

Notice how I'm not saying any names?:P

And I'll have to invite my neighbours..(past and present). My grandparents will want to invite their friends.(maybe by then they'll start forgetting who they're friends were.:P)..then there'll be colleagues. and.. maybe.. hahaha.. patients?

Oh, let's not forget about the groom. I'm sure he's got a truckload of relatives and friends who would like to attend the wedding too. Hahahaha.

But oh dear, so many people. I'm sure everyone gets hell when they plan out the list.

#$%(#*($_#($.. I forgot about my Dad's friends!!! ... My father has been attending weddings like every other month, for so many years..and this means, I'll have to return the favour. NOoOOo.... Dad, Mervyn can get married too, you know??

I think I should start saving now.

Toilet Bowls Are Bad For Me

This has always been a problem to me.

I do my most critical thinking whilst meditating on the ceramic throne. (no thanks to chick lits and comic books like Archie or Doraemon that makes me procrastinate the pulling up off my ass). And that's when I read too much into certain issues.

I usually ponder over the things I've said to others during the day. Suddenly, an intense feeling of guilt will surge through me as I sit there sweating on the toilet bowl. I will immediately take on full responsibility of all the awkward situations that I've encountered in the day. I usually come to my senses whilst sitting on the toilet bowl. Weird, no?

Sometimes even a tear or two will drop. Emo-shitter, uh huh. That's me. Salty up, salty down.:P

If someone has angered me during the day, that's when my anger gets intense. I will immediately create the craziest assumption and the longer I spend in the toilet turning my ass to purple gangrened prunes.. I'll actually start to believe the thoughts in my head. I create this false reality and actually try to solve the problems that has 'arised'..(all this while I'm still waiting for that last bit to just fall out, goddamnit)

Especially when I have fall outs with my (close)friends. I will get so upset about the simplest things and first there'll be intense imaginary physical violence that would probably kill them in real life, and then there'll be that slight hint of forgiveness, and suddenly, the need to apologize rushes into me and I just CAN'T WAIT to be done with the poopoo and call them up/send them an email/write them a nice note.

If there is an important decision about myself that I have to make within a period of time, I get stressed unneccesarily and come up with all kinds of scary situations that could be consequences of my 'big hairy deal' decision.

Take for example the time my Dad nearly wanted to send me to Indonesia to study pre-med and then dentistry. I was actually pretty brave about it and ACTUALLY gave it a chance to develope in my head. Suddenly I thought about all the things that I will be left out on if I left in September this year and all my friends who I will miss so much.. all the tv shows... and will I like living in Indonesia?! Maybe for a holiday yes.. But definitely not somewhere to live!! What if they teach the entire course in bahasa indon?! WHAT.. if.. I...fall..in..love..with..the..culture..and..the..people...and BECOMEANINDONESIANWIFE?!! .... I was so freaked out and when I got out of the toilet I told my dad there's no way I'm going and I'm staying here, in Taylors. I love Malaysia too much! Maybe I should've gone form6!! (when i bother voicing this thoughts, my dad will nag me about how I didn't apply for ASEAN. yaya, I'm sure I'll get it, uh-huh. *nods nods*)

However, when I think of my other difficult decision.. that is entering NUS for that (really affordable) dentistry course they offer.I know it's damn difficult to go in and all..but I will create this false reality such as settling down there because of the 5 year bond they have with the government and marry a Singaporean man and have suicidal Singaporean kids(like I said before, maybe I'll send them to Johor for education so they won't feel so stressed) and basically have good moolah to come home in time for the megasales three times a year!! .....then I thought of the immediate situations that will result in my decision. Small allowance, no car, weird studying enviroment, nervous breakdowns, homesickness..... the singaporean kiasu syndrome that will make me crack in half during exam seasons..........with that, I will immediately change my course of mind, and think about good ol' IMU that could be a choice. BUT, do I really want to be a doctor/dentist?! What will I say during my uni interviews??! AM I EVEN GOOD ENOUGH?!

.... and all will be forgotten when I reach for the toilet roll and pull the flush.

MSN Emo-Display Pics

Another day towards Maths Paper One and here I am after a visit to the toilet... blogging.

Honestly, WHAT is the problem with me? This problem has been occuring so frequently that even I, have started to realize it. Everytime I eat lunch,(usually at a chinese coffeshops/mamaks), I'll have to make a mad dash to the loo right after the 2nd/3rd last spoon of my food. The pains in my abdomen will be so excruciating and there will be a orchestra playing symphonies(the degree of those composed by YANNI) that crescendos and dimenuendos(hahah did i get that right?) at certain intervals and I will be begging the people around me to finish my lunch in a soprano-ish voice. I was in pain, you know.

On a happier note, Dad just bought a new battery pack for the digicam! Hence, the brother and I have been trigger happy ever since.

Let me torture you with some(an exaggeration, I might add) trigger happy moments of mine that I now change every few seconds on my MSN Display Picture to suit my moods.

Hi, my name is Jolene and if there is a question in your head, this answer will definitely answer it: I was wrong and irrational. I was being a woman.

Jolene Lai, Jolene Lai,
Came to life in January and not July,
She is 19 years of age,
Can't wait to earn her own wage,
This dental student is home sick,
Will never be in Kedah for more than three weeks.

Subang Jaya is where she's from,
The only place she'll ever call home.
Has a boyfriend, a brother and a dog,
The things she says can give you a shock.

Especially for her father, who always gets a heart attack when he reads this blog.

Hey, rhymes!
