Merdeka And Some Alcohol

I had some pitiful plans planned for Merdeka eve.

I was supposed to carry it all by my lonesome. For a couple of years now I've been wanting to catch the fireworks(which is at Sunway Pyramid) from the overhead bridge near my old school. It has got a pretty good view of the entire Sunway area! Or even sitting at the steep slope of grass at the corner of my school compound would have been a romantic idea - problem is my boyfriend is running around a round-a-bout in NUS 49 times to commemorate Merdeka with the other Malaysians in Singapore. -_-. Nus tradition apparently.

But it seems that Bryan was having a mini gathering, so I had to shelf the fireworks from a bridge plan for another year.(provided I have plans for this year's New Year eve).

Penny and I were supposed to go together, but due to some miscommunication, I ended up in Jasiminne's car and we followed Penny down to SS2. Then Jasiminne ter-overtook Penny and then we got lost. -_- For awhile.

I keep thinking that Bryan's underwear is like a dick-sock of sorts. Oh, you know the type. If you don't know what I'm talking about, I'll try my best to explain in the comments later.

Penny made extremely sweet cupcakes. Damn sweet wei Penny..

Jasiminne was going around with her new Lomocam.

And I finally got to meet Asyraf. At long last!

Rightt.

Yee Hou and I camwhoring with the fishies.

Cheryl has the exact same earring as me.

Kelli and I. When I was with Chee Kiang at the Curve on saturday night, we bumped into her, cheryl and bryan. Seems that chee kiang knows kelli since their leo club days. Oooo! .. But alah, Subang Jaya know each other also no big deal lah. Haha. We're all connected!

Ivan. I'm supposed to guestblog for you kan..:( Coming soon, coming soon. Don't give up on me.

Albert and his two lower deciduous central incisors. The permanent central incisors never erupted. Strange boy, he is.

Hey, that's me.

Why, hello there~. ;)

Another pic of Cheryl and I.

LOL LOL LOL!!! Angle only...

See Penny's face like naik syok only.

SO cute!!! Wanna take a guess who's the girl ar?

Kelli and I reenacted our raping Bryan scene. Damn nice to pull his pants. But he tied his pants so tightly.

Someone started to make drinks for everyone and I had like Bacardi, Chivas, Wine and Beer..... i think. Already it doesn't sound like good news right? Read on lah.

I can't remember who suggested we took class photos. Hahhaa. Damn funny.

A prim and proper one.

Someone said to Penny, "Oi!! Where got teacher smoke one??" and then she said, "I AM MRS. WONG! The school principal!" and she took a big puff like damn tow kei like that. I laughed so hard. Still laughing now actually. Penny, penny, penny. You should have seen the expression on her face.. so authoritative! Tai ka cheh! *shakes head*

HAHA. Damn red.

Kelli thought us a game called "the Honest game". We all sat in a circle with a drink in our hands. We were each supposed to admit to something ie. "I'm not wearing a bra today."...then those who are not wearing a bra, will have to drink. Guys also don't wear bras right? So it's applicable too. So it goes on in a circle with each person admitting to some secret of sorts. QUite fun!

The things we got to learn about each other........*evil laugh* Some of you are very naughty indeed. Very naughty.

Seng Meng and i! He was also damn red. I think you were abit tipsy, Seng Meng! :)

ooo!! Oo!! Mikel!! When I first started blogging, he was one of my very very first blogging friends. I dare say even the first blogger friend that I have.

You can see from the look on my face that I was abit red and not quite myself. It's all in the eyes, look closer.

I went up to him and said, "Mikel!!! I'VE NEVER SEEN YOU BEFORE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" and hugged him tight tight and camwhored with him immediately. And like I have mentioned, I would never have done that if I didn't have anything to drink. I don't get all touchy-feely when I first meet a person. So not me.

l-r: Mikel, Slinky, Shawn, Yee Hou, Jack

Look at Yee hou!! HAHAahahaha.

Jasiminne and I

Penny and Mikel

Our gracious host.

Sherve and I! Such a hot chick!

LOL! Check out the faces! Yo penny!

Another one of Sherve and I.

Joh... memang weird adi.

Check out Yee Hou's lips. It's like the centre is connected to each other leaving two holes at the sides. Heehee.

hehehe. Damn hiau por face.

And I climbed up the wall which separates Bryan from his neighbours and sat there.

Yee Hou and Cynthia

I was then joined by Jasiminne and Penny.

One more.

wooops. See, told you I was wayyyy off tangent. I'm very very very straight, for the record. No hint of bi-ness in me. I'm sure it was the alcohol. *nods vigorously*

Not missing a photo opportunity, that Albert. -_-

I love this photo. I don't know why, but the lighting is just so dramatic in this one.

L-r: Shawn, Ivan and Calvin

Penny and I lying on the hood of someone's car.

shawn and i

After a vague and foggy drive back to Subang(thanks Jasiminne!), I met up with Mun Teng, Ben Shyen, Sze Hsiung, his sister Jennifer, David and Kelvin Lim at Suku.

Apparently they also decided to go up a bridge to catch the Sunway fireworks and so we adjourned to the overhead bridge in SS15.

I remember being deep in conversation with Sze Hsiung and he was very friendly to me ...in fact very layan as I tried my best to keep a straight head. Ehehe, thanks for  layaning me despite my slightly weird...weirdness.

ben Shyen and I. See my eyes wei...see my eyes. So...pelik.

Mun Teng came in.

top l-r: Ben Shyen, Mun Teng, Jennifer, Kelvin
bottom l-r: Me, David, Sze Hsiung

Another cuter one! I think Jennifer looks really hot here! Reminds me of Adrian's girlfriend, Delene. Speaking of Delene, I was watching Sush's uni's Malaysian Night Video and Mun Teng and I were drooling over Delene's body.

*whacks Adrian on the head* You lucky bastard!! (and good luck for your anatomy paper today.)

Why lah Ben Shyen never smile....

Kelvin and I! He was showing me a pic of him in which he used to have pink hair on top of those blonde spikes.

I went back home and went online and must've spoke alot of crap on MSN.

I vaguely remember taking my hands and pretending that my keyboard was Mahjong tiles.

the effect ended up looking like that:

kslajdiuhiuehr734y23475dsf;dsf";dds345$#%3$%./;d1~1Dg

I felt really sick when I went home. I honestly can't really recall what I crapped on on MSN that night.

So imagine the laughs I had when I opened my chat history a few days later. Hahahhaha. Now you can laugh with me too.

I know I caused Esther and Chee Kiang to call me all the way from Australia and Singapore. LOL.

I cried on the phone to Chee Kiang and wailed that I was hungry and nobody wants to cook for MEeeeeEeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeEeeeee....

Gees. *shakes head*

See, even booze also spell wrongly. sheesh.

LOL, oklah, don't know about you guys, but I didn't remember parts of the conversation so I really burst out laughing here and there. Hahaha.

I know my so called drunk experience is not much. Crying, making out with a girl, not walking straight, manja-ing, puking twice and being random and crude is NOTHING...but cut me some slack lah, I've been couped up in Kedah and hardly get to go OUt anD AboUt.. so........this is still something different for me.

Happy Merdeka!

I wonder what our forefathers would be thinking if they know that their great granchildren celebrate the country's independence by getting high. Hehe.

Oh! Oh! I was checking my statcounter last night... and I went WTF!!!!!! when I saw this:

Like what exactly was going on in the person's head who googled MY name, Douglas Lim's name, and KLPAC????

?!???!?!??!?

Missing Person - Middle Age Man Who Suffers From Memory Loss

I just received this in my email from Calvin Tay(calvintay.blogspot.com).

Hope you guys can pass this around. Any publicity is good publicity in times like these:

Hope you guys don't mind me taking a minute or so off your time here, but I have some urgent news. My girlfriend Grace's uncle, who unfortunately suffers from memory loss has been missing for two days and we need help in looking for him.

Hopefully you guys could help out and spread the news via our blogs and via PPS so we could at least have more people on the lookout. And I don't think I managed to include all of your emails in here, so please, if I missed anyone please forward this around the blogosphere as well, to whoever you may know who may be willing to help.

Yee Hou agrees that spreading the news via the blogosphere would be good, and if you guys have anymore suggestions, please feel free to tell me and I will convey them to Grace's family. (since anything we do might end up as more of a predicament than a helping hand, even if we do mean well) Hopfully I didn't hit you guys at a busy spell or something, as I myself (and Grace) have yet to complete our trials and I know how it feels to have interruptions like these.

The required information lies below, and the contact as well. I attached his picture to the email as well. I hope you guys can lend me a hand here, as obviously this isn't child's play.

Age : 54 years old
Height : 5'9" or 185cm
He was last seen wearing long pants and a striped shirt; on the day he went missing.
Contact: 016-3228101 (Mr. Teoh)

The Dougl- I mean, Broken Bridges Review

*dances around room happily*

I finally saw Douglas Lim in like, 3 years!!

Put on weight and then lost weight, he has. Friendlier, he has become. Not so nervous anymore, I am.

Maybe because I'm more matured now that's why I don't freak out so much when I talk to him. Hehe. I remember how cold my hands were and how knotted up my stomach was when my mum drove me to the Vision New Media building to interview Douglas Lim for my school magazine. (Link to the article can be found on my sidebar).

As you all probably know, it was pissing down on Tuesday night and I couldn't drive down to KLPAC as planned. So Mun Teng, V-ng Yan and I took the KTM all the way down to Sentul.

It was so depressing because since we arrived about 20 minutes late, our nice F row seats could not be accessed until after the intermission. Boooo..

Could only see Douglas Lim moving about but couldn't see his face.

L-r: Mun Teng, V-ng Yan and Me

Broken Bridges is about a boy who comes from ipoh who wants to go to KL to see the world. The 'young boy' is of course played by Douglas who has just finished his equivalent of form5. Set in 1959, the fashion donned by the girls is so cute!

I love the way they incorporate your everyday Malaysian situation into actual songs.
The harmonising and the vocals were simply astounding. Though at times you can't quite make out what they were actually singing, so it's good to just sit back and enjoy the tunes.

I'm not quite sure which scene this was.. it was after the intermission. The stage setting was just amazing. It is apparently the most intricate and complex stage setting KLPAC has ever seen. Very clever play of the background. Cropped Ipoh Town!

Successful Ipoh boy comes home to tear down market place. Boy falls in love with Chee Cheong Fun girl. Boy too old for girl. Girl too posh to be a Chee Cheong Fun girl. No wonder Douglas' character fell in love with her. Like have you ever seen a chee cheong fun girl who speaks flawless English and has a keen interest for literature? Even a school girl with that type of character is hard to digest..so it didn't make much sense to me. But it's nice to see Douglas romancing on stage!

Douglas becomes the town's no.1 enemy. Even more so when he caused his girlfriend to fall pregnant.

Now, the strange part for is how she switched from cool, suave and streetsmart girl to become the typical naive little girl. Very drastic a change if you ask me.

HOI LUCKY GIRL!! Shoo!

The whole town found out about her pregnancy and her mother slapped her across the face. Damn dramatic. So she stands at one corner of the stage and unwinds a clothes hanger. She takes the sharp bit and shafts it up herself and gives out a blood curdling scream. Oh ouch. I never knew an abortion could be done like that...

and so she died lah. So people, not good to abort your pregnancy with a clothes hanger. See the distraught look on her mum's face? I think that's damn good acting. So real, made me tear a little. :)

Douglas gets thrown out of his town and never comes back for the next 30 years.

Douglas in datuk-ish clothes.

The storyline was nice. But then again, it doesn't really have to develope in a musical.

Modern times!

During the intermission, V-ng Yan told me, "eh got souvenirs!".

I sniffed and said, "cheh, broken bridges souvenir for what? Don't want to waste money."

Then I clutched her and said, "Wait, Douglas Lim souvenirs!!"

*dishes out Rm30*

I got a program book with his face on it and a cd with his voice in it!

Before leaving the studio.. such horrid lighting.

The chee cheong fun stall.

While waiting for the cast to come outside and mingle, I bumped into Doralisa. It's been ages!!

We spotted a damn hot guy but we were too unskillful when it comes to taking snap shots of hot guys without them noticing. Hahaha. I think Mun teng was holding the camera and yes, this is my boob.

We're talking about the guy in white, who is talking to the girl. Hehehe.

At one point he was standing so near us.. Mun Teng and I were giving each other hamsap looks. V-ng Yan just rolled her eyes. hahaha..

He stood so close that I just had to recite poems(within our own ear shot and for our own entertainment lah. Hahaha)

Oh, there you stand with your skin so fair,
Your hair so pointy and your lips so red.
The way you fill out that shirt of yours,
Makes us quiver with excitement.
Oh, you must be like twenty five,
When the men are developed and ripe,
And there you go, walking away, (
he was walking away),
Away from our lives.
Have a good life, now.
We will miss you.

He was damn cute okay! I know Hsin Ee sure sukak one! LOL, Don't worry peeps, I still love my boyfriend very very much. But once in awhile it is fun to grab a girlfriend and point, "cute guy wei!". It's called girl bonding sessions, ada faham ka?

Then Douglas Lim walked out. I went up to him and smiled as I walked. He looked at me.

He broke into a smile and started off with a hint of doubt, "J-eo....leen?" Jeolene, is how he pronounced my name. Heheheh AT LEAST HE REMEMBERED ME.

HE REMEMBERS ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

HE REMEMBERS ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

He shook my hand and said, "i thought you were studying in Australia or something?"

I was like, "nahh..Kedah.."

I took a photo with him.

This is the malaysian celebrity whom I've been stalking for the past 3 years.

As a 16 years old, I used to swear that as soon as I got my license, I'd drive down to Cheras to stalk Douglas Lim. hahaha.

At 16 years old, I cried because my teacher didn't allow me to do the Douglas Lim interview because it was not school related. Yeah, laugh all you want, ex schoolmates.:P

At 16 years old, I compiled a file with all the newspaper articles regarding Douglas Lim.

I was obsessed.

But I think after Homecoming ended, my Douglas Lim obsession died down(I even took down the fan sign I made for my side bar.) Hehehe.

I can't remember how I got his handphone number but I'd sms him twice a year. Once was during Malaysian Idol 2004 Grand Finals and asked if he was among the celebrity audience.

Another time was when I was stuck in National Service and he said I'm very brave to be in national service. Hahahha. Oh god.

I can't believe I revealed how pathetic I am.

Malu nye.

So blur though. :(

He had eyeliner on his eyes! But I'm no longer SO nervous and not so star struck anymore. Big girl already. Ahem ahem ahem.

I happily skipped out to the drop off point outside the entrance with the two girls and sang, "He remembers me!! he remembers me!!"

LOL.

Then Douglas was walking out the entrance too, towards his car. He stopped for a chat.

*melts into mush*

But nolah, I was much cooler in person then I am with this embarassingly unsophisticated personality that I portray in my blog.

He was nice enough to make small talk with me. Like laughing at the date that I have to go back to Kedah(September 11).

I asked, "So....are you married to your girlfriend, Natasha yet?"

So i derived they are getting married next year, moving to Putra Heights, they have a labrador so they need a bigger compound. Haha. YAY, I made small talk with him.

I gathered all my courage and said, "Oh! Your brother found me on friendster!"

"YEa!! He told me!", said Douglas.

DIE la die.

You see, about a year ago, I photoshopped a photo of me kissing Douglas on the cheek. It was in black and white because the colour difference was damn obvious. Hehehe. His brother found it funny and decided to message me on Friendster.

-_-. Meaning Douglas knows about that photo? Hahahaha. Oh god.

But it's cool lah, all in good humour right? :)

Our taxi arrived and we said bye to Douglas. I went into the taxi and told the taxi man, "JANGAN CEPAT SANGAT..nak tengok kereta Douglas Lim dulu!"

Oh how the taxi man laughed. He actually layaned me and went slowly to see which car was Douglas's. Hahahha.

But I decided I've had enough of being crazy for the night and just went out of KLPAC.

v-ng Yan said, "This is my friend. She is Crazy."

What was ironic was prior to the musical, I told the both of them, "I'm no longer a teenybopper!"

When I was waiting for him to come out, I said, "Wei, I feel damn groupiee...."

hahaha. And I left KLPAC squealing, "Douglas Lim!! Douglas Lim!!!!"

I can't help it. I am damn groupie.

Hi, my name is Jolene and if there is a question in your head, this answer will definitely answer it: I was wrong and irrational. I was being a woman.

Jolene Lai, Jolene Lai,
Came to life in January and not July,
She is 19 years of age,
Can't wait to earn her own wage,
This dental student is home sick,
Will never be in Kedah for more than three weeks.

Subang Jaya is where she's from,
The only place she'll ever call home.
Has a boyfriend, a brother and a dog,
The things she says can give you a shock.

Especially for her father, who always gets a heart attack when he reads this blog.

Hey, rhymes!
