Perfumes, Coffeeshop Dinners, Swensen Ice-cream and Period Stain at McDonalds.

Life is so different here as compared to my couped up lifestyle in Kedah. People to see and places to go. Things to see and things to do.

It's good to be home. :)

Met up with what's left of the gang. From a nice crazy amount of 20+ friends, we've dwindled down to slightly less than 10. Let's see, 2 more will leave for US within this month. 2 more goes back to UK in September. 1 leaves for UK in September. Only Mun Teng, Kwo Kuang, Chun Guan and Yijin left in Malaysia. Kwo Kuang and Chun Guan will be leaving next year... Left Mun teng and Yijin only. So sad!!!! Jolene goes to Kedah...and according to Mun Teng, it's like I've left Subang as well. But in a way I'm still around lah.

I do get along well with my friends from college and university. But I feel most at home with my secondary school friends. Somehow there're more reasons to hang out. It feels odd calling college friends or other acquaintances out of the blue for yamcha.. but with secondary school friends it's just so easy. You get together and laugh like hyenas.. not those constrained type of polite giggles and the hamsap jokes cannot be overdone.

When can all of us be together properly?

Other things that make me happy are such as winning competitions from magazines and newspapers. I just got myself a Very Irresistable Givenchy perfume worth Rm269 or something like that.

Smells like talcum powder.

Such a big bottle too!

Camwhoring with the box.

First day you know me ah..you really thought I was going to stop at 3? Hahaha. You should have seen the amount of photos I took.

I was supposed to rest and relax this holiday. ; Here's when mum dragged me out to do errands.

Had dinner with She Dee, Su-Hsien, Mun Teng, Barry, Yijin, EGuy, Adrian, Pooi Yoke, Aloysious, Vern Yang and Dennis Tan(for awhile) at SS15's Long Khee. Quite expensive for a coffeeshop dinner and we overordered.

So big boy still want to play with toothpicks.

She Dee and I

Didn't manage to get a photo of Ying Quan, Dennis Tan and Su-Hsien though. They all left before my camwhore mode came on.

We then adjourned to Coffeebean to continue crapping. Surelah, haven't seen these folks for months!

Mun Teng and I made very good use of the mirrors at coffeebean.

Not enough..

Somemore...

Ok. Satisfied.

E-Guy got skill. He was camwhoring.

Mun Teng trying out my Stila lip gloss.

Love the lightings.

HEY ADRIAN!!!! UK PUNK, they call him. Was so happy to see him. Yet he still insulted me. I was about to give him a hug and he was like, "EE! Don't want! Your face like that." (This is apparently part of his training for me to develope a thicker skin to deal with issues when people insult me such as recent ones on the blog.) LOL. I was in the car alone with him to Subang Parade, and I kena kutuked non-stop. I cried and laughed like mad.

Yijin want to tumpang glamour.

Barry who will be leaving to US very very soon. woi! Lunch!!
*hugs*

Eguy and Yijin fooling around. The audio very cacat.

the lot of us at Coffeebean.

Since the next day was Earthquake day at Swensen's, we decided to do the usual ice-cream get together.

E-Guy and I.

l-r: Yijin and Adrian.

New blogger on the blog!!;D

L-r: Ben, Mun Teng and she Dee. I didn't get to talk to Ben as I was only introduced to him on that day.

l-r: Sing Foong and Edwin. Watch out for Sing Foong's turn at getting pimped by the pimptress. We've heard about each other for ages but we've only met like on Tuesday. I don't know about them lah, but I've heard of Sing Foong since form4 and Edwin since end of form5. :) Very nice guys. We got on really well.

OMG I only just noticed E-guy's hamsap pose with the tongue sticking out.

Not ALL mine lah. Posing only.

L-r: She Dee, Aloysious, Yijin

Karen and I. Been quite a while since I saw Karen! :) Still very much the athlete that she has always been.

After a few of the rest left..

One last group picture before we adjourned to McDonalds. Hahahha. Yeah, what's WRONG with us.
L-r: Edwin, Me, Karen, Mun Teng, She Dee, Sing Foong

L-r: Mun Teng, Edwin, Sing Foong, She Dee, karen.

How silly, we ended up talking and talking for nearly 20 minutes at the side of the road, next to Karen's car.

We went to McD's and talked loads more!

This is us running across the street to get our cars.

Good lord. This is what I saw at the McD's toilet. DEFINITELY NOT MINE.

As I have mentioned, I'll be heading to Redang soon for a couple of days! Can't wait!! I was cracking my head, "What to use to store my camera when I go snorkelling???" I know they sell those waterproof pouches that you can hang on your neck. And I'm thinking, "How, camera and phone also must bring around one what...".

I know they sell waterproof casing for the camera.. but I can't find any and it would be too expensive.

So TADA!!! Took one of the cookie containers my mother used for Chinese New Year. I'll put it in a zipped up tote bag to carry around so it won't fall out when I go snorkelling. Good idea?

What a cool way to camwhore.

I love this shot! If I can't go to the JW marriot's lit mirrors-galaxy-thingie.. I'll just have my own fun at home. :)

Bloggers Beware? Don't Worry, Dad.

I don't suppose I need to brief the lot of you about today's headlines in the Star.

See, if most of you have read my blog long enough for say a minimum of two years, you'd have an idea that my father is extremely concerned about me and my blog. He usually takes the papers to work. But he asked me to buy another copy so that I could read the article as soon as possible. As far as I am concerned, my blog is anything but a threat to the government.

I remember the very first thing he scolded me about was putting my handphone number up. That was when my only readers were Esther, Barry, Ken, Elizabeth and Melody wayyy back in early 2004.

Then came the scoldings about my cursings and if you've noticed, there are hardly any profanities in my blog these days. I'd say at least ONE in five posts. And no, bitch is a normal word. Not a swear word in my vocab.

Then came the scoldings about me revealing things like me kissing in an elevator and... what else was there.. basically about me revealing almost everything about myself on this blog. Though I've toned quite a bit in recent times. I used to have to blog about every single thing I do. Now a days, I just don't find the energy to do that.

Actually I didn't mention this before but the reason he freaked out and was further fueled by that SPG case back in June 12 was because the blog meet I went to consisted of people who would never be friends with me if it wasn't for blogs. When I first started out, the bloggers I befriended were more likely to be peers of my parents than be my peers in real life.

I mentioned something about some of the heavyweight bloggers at the meet getting a visit from the police to "talk things over"... and he was shit worried.

So, there. I didn't want to mention names back then and that the things they were involved in were the reason my dad was freaking out because the meet was still fresh and stuff so I left this bit out in hopes of avoiding any tension.

Now, he's cool about me going for blog meets provided that I have friends whom I already know present at the meet. What he is worried about now is that the bloggers I meet up with are involved in all these spreading of 'dangerous information' and that I might be dragged into it if it was discovered that we "move in the same circles".

But after awhile, you kind of drift away from trying to fit in and find your own standing.

The bloggers I meet up with are all a bunch of camwhores. :D It's the older generation and the more outspoken one among us who are more into the whole government-socio-political-bla-bla-bla. They'd never come out to meet us crazy camera weilding kids. We'd bore each other to death.

Me:"Come take picture!"
Older, serious blogger: "mmm..." *continues flipping newspaper*

See? It just DOESN'T work that way. You can read Giant Sotong's extremely brilliant observation about the Generation-Y's Blog Meet".

You know what makes my idea of a blogging community? Different personalities leading different lives telling different stories and painting different pictures for us to see. In a way, we get to live all kinds of life through one single medium. At least for me, that's the whole blogosphere concept is about. Not clones ranting about the same issue.

Our prime minister is more concerned about those who blog about things regarding the government. I admit, maybe my national service entries would have been of that sort and my father made me take it down(all 40 entries..arghh) and I was planning to edit it and load it up again sometime in the future. But I think better not.

I blog to make friends. I blog to be part of communities. I blog to keep in touch. I blog to make others smile. I blog to make myself smile.

I wouldn't call my blog a personal blog but it is still very much about me. Personal stuff, love life and such..well, we all have secret blogs for that, don't we? ;)

I love the other bloggers who are of my generation and we are selfish in the sense that we just close one eye to the latest sensational news and keep blogging about how absolutely adorable our latest manicure was or how great that new fine dining place is. We blog about what we love. We are materialistic like that.

We get together because we know about each other's lives through our blogs and it's like we've been friends for ages because that's the purpose of our blogs. To form a community.

The government is worried about bloggers who hype up the already sensational news to the point of exaggeration. But we all know who those 'bloggers' are, if you want to call them that. I call them people who got nothing to blog about.

They are the cut and paste bloggers who polute our once close-knitted community.

Remember the whole miri school girl fight going around? Pffft. So what.
Remember the UPM fight? It WAS scary to look at.. but not all bloggers want to ruin the rhythm of their blog with some overkilled 'biG NeWs'. I mean, it's everywhere. It's practically everywhere to the point that it was boring.

Maybe some do blog about these issues because they are concerned. But I have a feeling a good number are doing this for traffic.

Oklah, different people have different perspectives on things. You know the old old oldddd saying(which Xiaxue has chanted once too many), "this is my blog and I blog what I want". No problem! You go on talking about boring government things and I will continue camwhoring with my alarm clock.

I do agree that blogs are never meant for spreading malicious information. But I hope the bloggers I've befriended along the way know how to jaga their own asses lah. If the government wants to monitor the blogs more, what can we do?

Just watch what you write, no big deal. We have to be responsible in that sense. You can't just go directing your anger and discontentment at bigger powers(or even innocent people like you and me) and then say, "this is my blog, I can blog what i want."

Well, the only way for you to blog about what you want is to use password protected blogs. But you still itchy backside! Still want readers! What to do you tell me?

Heck, I don't even bitch about the people around me no more these days on my blog. (Once again, password protected private blogs rock my socks.)

So, my friends, we keep up our eat-shit-sleep blogging style and we're good to go. You don't need to rant like the world owes you everything to get a bigger readership. You don't need to talk about sensational news to get a bigger readership. You don't need to expose your body to get a bigger readership.

But all that lies in what the individual wants at the end of the day.

I'm for the eat-shit-sleeping-in-style type of blogs.(these type of blogs can either be very boring or VERY funny) :) Who's with me?

Oh well, a hug to all my friends who blog and all the bloggers who are my friends.. take care and beware.

Han Yijin The Blogger

You know how it is when one of your friends start up a blog. It's always the ones we least suspected. Oh how I giggled when I found out about it.

My dear friend of 9 years, Han Yijin, has started a blog aptly titled, "One Man's Tragedy Is Another Man's Comedy". It chronicles all the silly stories that one would usually share over a teh tarik or two at your favourite mamak stall till the wee hours of the night.

He is one of those fellows who has the funniest stories spun from all the mishaps that he has experienced. The funniest people are those who can laugh at themselves.

It's even more interesting that he is a trainee pilot for MAS and he blogs about his funny flying experiences. He mentioned in one of his posts that he got lost while flying to Johor.

See his cute face, don't tell me you don't want to read his blog?

I'm in the midst of teaching him how to camwhore properly so you'll see more of his handsome mug splashed all over his spankin' new blog.

At only four posts(and growing), he shows signs of a promising story teller.

The gang has been teasing him about getting his blog "out there!". Picking fights with the famous bloggers(there were talks about insulting Kenny Sia's bulu) and then getting famous in the process.. but he is going to do it the honest way. Just tell all his silly stories that has tickled us for years on end in hopes that he will gain a healthy amount of readers as well.

SO GO SHOW HIM SOME LOVE!! SUPPORT SUPPORT!!

Hi, my name is Jolene and if there is a question in your head, this answer will definitely answer it: I was wrong and irrational. I was being a woman.

Jolene Lai, Jolene Lai,
Came to life in January and not July,
She is 19 years of age,
Can't wait to earn her own wage,
This dental student is home sick,
Will never be in Kedah for more than three weeks.

Subang Jaya is where she's from,
The only place she'll ever call home.
Has a boyfriend, a brother and a dog,
The things she says can give you a shock.

Especially for her father, who always gets a heart attack when he reads this blog.

Hey, rhymes!
