Doodling As A Stress Reliever

Yes, yes. Still alive despite the repetitive late nights.. been waking up during lunch time, studying at 4.30pm to 5am(with various procrastinating actvities in between) and the cycle repeats.

But sometimes while studying, my mind drifts off and I end up doodling things all over my notes. I've actually done some of these doodles before on my brother's PDA(hmph. lucky lucky) and he enjoyed them. Thought I'd share some of my, ahem, works with you guys.

The Conventional Chicken.

See, I even made sure that there's a slight change in colour just like how real cooked fish will change in colour when they are cooked.

Little did Mr.Potato know that he would have been reduced to ...slices. By the way, doesn't Mr.Potato looks Mexican?

My crab looks like he's dancing. You know, like, *snap* *snap* *taptaptap*, dumdeedummdaa..dooodoo....WARGHHHH.. SHAA SHAAAA.."Dinner is served."

I learnt this from Ken. :) HEY KEN DO YOU STILL READ MY BLOG DAMMNIT? Ken as in Chua Kok Kian, Ken, Ex-interact vice president of SMKSS17 2002/2003, currently in Melbourne U, came back to Malaysia never find old friend...yeahhh that Ken. :) Just kidding, dude.;P We still miss you!
Oh right..sorry, I digressed. It's a pig staring up at the camera. Can you picture it? And I love bak kut teh. I LOVE BAK KUT TEH.

Moomoo with saggy titties.

See the change in colour and reduction in size? Damnit, my drawings are SO realistic. I surprise myself sometimes.

I love eating lambchop, Lalala,
I love eating, LAMBCHOP. Lalala.
I love eating, Lambchop..
Lambchop always makes me glad!

Ok, a big prize to whoever who can guess where that spastic prose came from. Clue: What were you singing on weekends nearly a decade and a half ago?

I don't mean to offend you animal loving activists, but I love sharksfin soup. Fake, real, hot, cold, frozen, lukewarm, regurgitated...whatever. LOVE EM. And yeah, I know it looks like a whale who thinks he is a shark(and he stuck the fin on so it makes him look like a shark)...but the blood on the teeth just screams, "Oei!! I'm a shark, ok!" no?

Let's move on to more exotic cuisines..

I find the aliens I draw very cute. But this is my "artist's impression"(FINALLY I get to use that word.) of what a bowl of steaming hot alien mush would look like. :)

Yeah, that's what my parents always tell me. I always fall for the same old trick.

This is the chinese in me talking. We eat anything with four legs. By the way, it is a dog. Lie Yuen thinks it is a rat. Oei woman, I think the rats in your ceilings are messing with your head. Lie Yuen can be heard thumping the ceiling with the broom stick throughout the day to scare away the rats in the ceiling.

Never tried before..but check out the floating whiskers in the soup.

UGH. Never want to try this. Apparently the monkeys are still trashing around when their skull caps are cut open. I should have drawn an angry and scared looking money instead of a monkey who looks high.

Yes yes, as you can see, I've run out of ideas.

The penis of an asshole should always be fed to dogs.

This is a passing thought..was worried that i might forget it, hence I'm using that snapshot technique I was talking about in the previous post.;)

Oh, and you thought THAT photo of my room was bad. You ain't seen nothing yet.

Clean clothes are on the mattress, dirty clothes are on the floor. This is how ANY of my rooms look like when exams are near. Can't give a shit about tidiness. I need everything within arm reach, yo. Oh yeah, can anybody spot a red bra? Hohoho.

My table. See.. you don't wanna be here doing what I'm doing, I'm telling ya.

ALL THOSE FILES FOR JUST ONE YEAR WORTH OF EDUCATION. It's crazy.

Clean my room? Bah.

You got a problem is it now?

By the way my keychain pinkie would like to say hi.

OHHH!! Good news. I've gotten double eyelids. Must be because I was sleepy, rubbing my eyes, sticky eyeshit sticking eyelids together....but the point is, I HAVE DOUBLE EYELIDS! Only on one side though. =

Holiday for everybody tomorrow!!

Hahaha..this was photoshopped on. Don't laugh. Praise, but don't laugh.

And the other side is still as pitiful as ever. ;( (YALAH I'LL PLUCK MY EYEBROWS SOON. Bitch.)

And the double eyelids dissapeared after I went to bed.:(

Oh, look. 4pm. Time to open the books for the day.

Ahh.. look at the pretty colours on my blog. I love my blog damnit!! Me and my colours. *revels*

** oooh.. here's me doing Mariah Carey's My All. Banyak tunjuk ajar ya. I've finally found a way to publicize my shower time syok sendiri moments.

Over Burning The Midnight Oil

Countdown to finals: Two weeks.

I've been studying till the wee hours every night because I just cannot bring myself to start studying until say 4.30pm. After completing one chapter, the caterer aunty comes with my dinner. Then having dinner, washing the plates, throwing rubbish takes up about an hour. Alright, perhaps I should chill with the computer for awhile.

Oh. 5 more minutes. *blog hops*

Ah, what's another 15 minutes. *checks email, friendster, technorati, statcounter*

Ooo! What a nice blog! *reads for awhile*

And before I know it, one and a half hours have surpassed me just like that. So I usually resume studying at about 8.30pm and try to complete 3 Anatomy topics, 1 or 2 Physiology topics, 1 Biochemistry topic and a dentistry topic or two PER night. If I am lucky I go to bed by 3am. Mu usual bed time is around 4.30am. I know, I know. it's crazy. I'm used to it.

There are various ways which I use to keep myself awake. I make myself Nescafe! Like, three spoons of it plus lots of condensed milk. Yeap, I'll die a diabetic. I know.

If that doesn't work, I gulp down an entire bottle of Brands Chicken Essence. I'm quite taken with that salty liquid by now. *goes down and gets another bottle*. Yes, I know I'll die a hypertensive too.

If I still feel sleepy after a couple of hours, I brush my teeth. Yeap, you heard me. Brush my teeth. The minty freshness immediately rouses me from my sleepy stupor, therefore allowing me sufficient alertness to complete my allocated topics for the night.

But what's a student who needs to cram to do? :( Health is not an option. COMPLETING THE SYLLABUS IS!!

Studying goes hand in hand with munching. Die la die.

Eh, half way studying, one gets bored okay. So I shall celebrate Happy Good Lips Day. :) Kisses all around! (By the way, if my lips look glossy, it's because of my saliva. Really. No lip gloss, no lip stick. Just me and my fluids.)

How about some lip reading, hmm?

Haiyo, forgive me. It's not often that I realise what I like about myself.

Scribbling self reminders for the following day's activities. :)

After sitting on the chair for hours, lying on the bed makes a good change of environment!

Yalah, posing.  But while posing, I was actually reading and could actually understand what I was reading because I was posing with that same page for so many times.;p

But it's true. I've been staying up late. Siggghh. What removes eyebags, people?

I finished my maxillary nerve topic and aimed to finish charting the permanent dentition so that I can proceed charting the deciduous dentition(milk teeth) on the following day. Look at the time - 5.30am. Sigh.

I was drained..

Not to mention bored. But I was only taking a little time off to study!! Hahhaa, yes Peababes, that's THE alarm clock. :P

I want to sleep. *:{ <-- supposedly self created cute pouting emoticon.

Need. Sleep.

I'M REALLY WORKING ONE LAAA.. not camwhoring all the time. Please!

After working for another 40 minutes, sigh.......

LOL Check out the hair!

I wanted to blog about some noises I heard like pigeon cooing and people cooking breakfast which made me feel uneasy(because believe it or not, I feel guilty about staying up so late), but in case I forget, I decided to jot it down first. :) But it makes a nice blogging style on its own. No? Maybe I'll do this more often. Simply jotting down passing thoughts that I would like to blog about but will perhaps forget later on and then photograph it. Yeah! *source of inspiration*

After another half an hour, the sun was rising already. As you can see, after a while, you don't get sleepy anymore.

ALRIGHT!! 7.10AM and I was done with tabulating the bloody tooth morphology. (the lecturer's notes are so jumbled up, it makes no sense to search through the ugly fonts.. so I might as well make it into point form and do it in my own hand writing and put em into tables. So neat.:) )

My goodness. In all my life, I've only stayed up till the break of dawn.. I think for:-
1) Interact Camp in 2000
2) Interact Valentine's Day Project 2003(hahaha good ol days eh esther, zhuo yan, jean ee, kaang cheing etc..)
3) New Year's Day 01 (Chien's house sleepover)
4) New Year's Day 04
5) Liss' birthday 2003
6) and now studying for BDS First year finals. :(

It's still sort of night time as my glow in the dark butterflies and flowers can still glow.

Ah....I need more sleep.

Oh!! I did another recording of myself singing :P
This time it's The Power of Love!! :)

Happy 3rd Birthday Project Petaling Street!!

Isn't it Project Petaling Street's birthday today? Why is it that I only saw one post(hey Simon!) sending in his warmest wishes?

I remember there was a whole hoo-hah last year fretting about the venue for the next bash, bogged with the expectation of a large turn up for the third bash. But then again, Aiz, you did a good job organising last year's. It makes sense to take a break for this year's. :) Those of you who missed last year's biggest blogosphere event, can refer to Mud Pond's One Stop Bash Pings.

Before PPS(B.PPS), the only blogs I knew how to stalk were Suckball.com(there was once when I saw Louis at a coffeeshop in SS15 and grabbed Barry and said, "OHMIGOD IT'S SUCKBALL LOUIS!!!!!!" and continued to starecock at him. I went to his tagborad and he told me he noticed but he thought I was staring at him like he killed my dog or something. Woops.) and from Suckball.com I discovered Xiaxue. I sat in front of my computer for nearly 7 hours reading through Xiaxue's posts. I was a fan throughout 2004 to the end of 2005. Was a fan.

B. PSS, I would stalk all my friends blogs(I still do okay!) and a few friends whom I made online (YO SLINKY!) and because of my Douglas-Lim-daily-googling habits, I came across absolutely-fuzzy.com and midnitelily.com(yes woman i've been reading you wayyyyy before I started pinging.:)).

I came into the portal as a wide eyed youngish blogger back in September 2004, intrigued by all these big shot bloggers. It was the era of Loopymeals,Ireneq, SashiBuaya69,Mei, Quesarah,(who was also a senior from school!), Jasonmumbles, Narrowband, Liz Tai, Jenn Tai, Fishtail, AlwaysWowMichaelOoi, Louyau, Reta, Dr.Liew.. at least those names became the ones I usually equated with as the widely read bloggers in PPS. I would read about their blog meets and think about how fun it would be if I could join them!

I remember seeing their links repeated throughout the blogs in the blogosphere and would sigh wistfully to myself about how nice it would be to be listed among those bloggers. :)

I would trawl the portal daily, generating a healthier amount of traffic. I was addicted to PPS!

I remember on the morning of 26th December 2004, I saw pings with the titles that went, "My room shook", "Is there a ghost?", "My apartment has been evacuated due to earthquakes.", "What's happening? The earth is moving!!" and many more similiar posts.

And at the time it was only 9am, more or less an hour away from the tsunami tragedy. The Penang bloggers blogged in detail about feeling tremors and after the tsunami, you should have seen the flooding of pings. It keeps you informed like that.

Throughout the years alot of us have made friends with each other, made pseudo celebrities out of each other, launched wars against each other, attacked each other from behind, pimped each other, defamed each other, fed each other's egos, listened to each other's problems and offered the kindest words of sympathy...

...ah. The wondeful world of Project Petaling Street.

The bloggers of this portal gathering together to form a colourful variety has been a new and lovely experience for me.

From journalists to graphic design students to accountants to pharmacists to ex editors to professional photographers to celebrity professional photographers to celebrities to car enthusiasts to voice over for their own cars to biotechnologists to medical students to housewives to real estate agents to (previously)secondary school students to engineers to lecturers to casanovas to anonymous journalists to journalists extraordinaire to hilarious artistic gay guys to thespians to expatriates to movie directors to future movie directors...the list is endless.

I thank you, PPS, for opening my life to these people.

PPS has also made household names out of the likes of Kennysia, Minishorts, ShaolinTiger, Peter Tan, Jeff Ooi, Mack, Suanie, Simontalks, Jason Mumbles, Kimberlycun, Sixthseal, Lainie, Jay, FireAngel, Smashpop, Hustler Diaries, LilianChan, Rojaks, Datin Diaries....just to name a few. I'd name KinkyBlueFairy too but she didn't need PPS to boost her traffic. She did it her own way and I really respect that alot. Suet Li, you're on your way to become the next KinkyBlueFairy, not because you have the same style, but because you did not need PPS to elevate your traffic and all it took was linkages by interested readers.

Some of the mentioned bloggers have dimmed away from the lime light because you cannot be at the top forever. But a famous blogger will always be remembered as a famous blogger regardless of their consequent entries. At least to me. :)

PPS was in its glorious moments before its big birthday bash back June 2005. The blogosphere was buzzing with activities daily, we even had a forum and even an IRC channel of our own. After it got the recognition it deserved, the portal was tainted with horrible lack-lustre posts. Copy+paste clones, horrid advertisers looking to make a quick buck, weird symbols among the pings(my computer cannot read chinese).. I was dissapointed by the quality.

Thank goodness with a fresh breath of newer bloggers infiltrating the blogosphere in 2006, the portal has reached a healthier equilibrium. I've even pin pointed many new bloggers to stalk! :) Forgive me if you've been pinging long before this but I only came to know about people like Smashpop, Cheng Sim, Calvin Tay, Yee Hou, Leng Mou, Kyels, S-Kay, Kampungkai, Jennifer and et cetera in 2006.

Actually I'm thinking of a proper category to fit Albert in, but I think I'll just give you your own special mention. I can't seem to place a blogger whom I've known as a 'my X-fresh articles approver' from way back in 2001 and someone who is friends with almost everybody. :) Here's to the 6th year of our online friendship, dude!

In all other entity, I'm also happy to see a number of my real life friends trying out this weird thing called "pinging". Here's a shoutout to Barry(whose blog has died, Barry! How could you! You were one of the few who got me into blogging!), Hsin(the one woman who got me into whole blogging phenomenon), Liss, Elaine, Brenda Weng Lum and Kyle. Even my brother Mervyn has tried pinging once or twice. Did I miss out anyone?

I'm sure the voices of the anonymous blogs such as the likes of Fashion Asia, Michael Ooi, Dr.Liew, Eyeris, Simontalks, Diarygirl, Hustler Diaries, Wingz, Buaya69 would like to say a big thank you for the veil of anonymity that PPS has provided yet feeding them with a healthy number of fans. Though some veils are quite see through.....*ahem ahem nudge nudge some other bloggers*. ;)

Lastly, here's a final happy birthday shout out to Project Petaling Street. Long live the portal where people rant, bitch and rave. :)

Thank you PPS!

Hi, my name is Jolene and if there is a question in your head, this answer will definitely answer it: I was wrong and irrational. I was being a woman.

Jolene Lai, Jolene Lai,
Came to life in January and not July,
She is 19 years of age,
Can't wait to earn her own wage,
This dental student is home sick,
Will never be in Kedah for more than three weeks.

Subang Jaya is where she's from,
The only place she'll ever call home.
Has a boyfriend, a brother and a dog,
The things she says can give you a shock.

Especially for her father, who always gets a heart attack when he reads this blog.

Hey, rhymes!
