So This Is The Plan...

I'm trying to make full use of my time. Hence, shitting can be done together with blogging as well.

*pauses for awhile to concentrate on shitting*

Okay, right.

I feel that I'm quite proned to backache and I can only imagine how much worse it'll be when I become a dentist(please pray for me people, please pray that I'll be a dentist..=( )

When I'm a dentist, I'll have a comfy chair nicely designed to suit the contours of my back and perhaps installed with Ogawa's machinery to soothe my aching back. When I lean back, a neck rest will tend to the aching muscles in my neck and squeeze them in a circular motion.

Ahhh...I can just feel it now. *lies back and bangs head on toilet tank* Damnit.

I could probably have a massuer come in twice a week and we can go into a special room at the back of my clinic where I would be given a nice long massage to soothe the twisted muscles.

I know how people are scared of dentists. Been there done that. I'll put soft music like Enya or Kenny G and maybe some love songs from the 90s(those were the best!) to set them in the mood. Then I will get to say, "Now, open wide!" and they'll be a dear and will do just that.

I'll probably work from 9-6pm.. but no worries because I will have an answering machine on 24 hours a day. Just leave a message and we'll notify you about any available slots. Maybe if I'm really into the whole money thing, I can take special requests to open my doors just for you at your convenience.

My waiting room will be stocked with magazines and lego sets(for the children, of course). Let's say if I'm not into the whole sophisticated interior design look, I'll take out my digital camera before you go and snap a picture of your gorgeous smile and print the photo out. That photo will go up on a wall which will be full of smiles of satisfied patients. ;D

But sometimes a change of plans, and a change and another, and another....brings you back to the same ol' plan.

When ck was in IMU, I decided that I'd try to get my government posting to be same as his since he would graduate one year before me and would be posted somewhere else first. I'd just follow whereever when I come out in 2010.

Then he got a scholarship to NTU to do biological science..which made me very sad because of the assumed 8 years LDR that we had to do. We even came to a decision that I'd take my government posting to Johor instead. Say only so easy, as if the government will layan my requests, but I can still try, right?

Then he decided that it wasn't a good choice and decided to stick with IMU to finish his pharmacy course.

Of course I was elated:) It was back to square one.

He found out he was offered a course at NUS(his dream university) but didn't want it. He appealed to change to the pharmacy course at NUS instead. I mentally prepared myself for another change in plans, plastered on a happy smile and tried to be as positive as possible.(a lousy trait of mine, I'm a pessimist).

Once again when he was all prepared to settle down in IMU, NUS gave him an interview for their pharmacy course. He went down without much expectation. He came back up not expecting much either.

But just when the sand has settled to the bottom of my glass bottle, fate stuck its finger into the water and swirled it for me again. My bottled water is murky again. :(

Knowing that I would be upset, he called me and you know, this, that, bla, bla, sob, sob, sniff, sniff, snort, snort, yea,okay.. I felt better after he reminded me of our original plan now that he is going to Singapore again.

We'll graduate at the same time.(2010)
I'll try to get a government posting to Johor.
He would have to work for the SIngapore government for three years.
Proximity you know.

After his three years in Singapore, he'll come back to do his Malaysian government posting for another three years. While he is doing his Malaysian posting, I'll probably be in the private sector already. Or maybe I'll stay with government but I highly doubt so.

At least he is coming home to Malaysia.

After establishing both our careers(somehow building a career with the government just doesn't seem like a likely possibility..it's more like a necessity.. why am I more inclined to the private sector in terms of career? Sigh. ), we'll be respectively 28 and 29. So old.

So how now?

Oh, we'll play by ear. :)

Talking about our future right up till we're both 28 and 29 did cheer me up. :D

Soon we were talking about our recent bedtime nightmares and a <hint CK>freaking cute Tamagotchi in the Female magazine that I was reading. </hint CK>

Oh, I'm so easy to be pleased. Just talk to me and put thoughts into my head and I'll be happy. :)

Okay, gotta go now. Backside's getting gangrene.

I Will Bite Your Head If You Don't Serve Me My Food

Sometimes you feel like burning down a certain eatery due to sheer stupidity on the restaurant's part.

On desperate days, Lie Yuen and I would head over to the hospital next to my university for lunch. (the food in the cafeteria was said to be SO bad that the students would head over to the hospital in throngs.) As you enter the cafe, you are greeted by an overwhelming stench of ammonia. You wave your hands and think, "Oh eww...why so near toilet one?"

But no. It's NOT the toilet. It's the combined smell of stale buffet, malay style.(meaning you get fried-to-powder-form fried fish, floppy tau foo, limp veggies floating around in yellow liquid which I assume is the gravy. The only good thing about such a 'spread' would be the presence of sinfully fried chicken. Even fried egg would do the trick for me. But no. Everything is curry this curry that, sambal this sambal that ...and don't forget they all smell of ammonia!

The rice is placed in a big container with a scoop for all the hands in the world..doctors, nurses, janitors, students, lecturers, pharmacists, people who like to shit and never wash their hands, people who dig their nose and leave their boogers within their fingernails, sick people(it's a hospital, duh)...to touch.

The only thing edible from the cafe would be off the menu. Fine. So we called for Mihun Soup. TAK MAU CHILLI.

It came half an hour later(at least it came). I poked my tongue into the soup out to assess the situation.

FUCKANATHAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!\

I hate it that when I am hungry, I only have something spicy to eat.

THE ONLY TIME I EVER EAT SPICY FOOD IS WHEN I AM BEING POLITE AND ALL MUHIBBAH-ISH. (only force myself to eat spicy stuff during Deepavali and Hari Raya open houses. PR skills, you know.)

Okay, maybe otak-otak is the only other spicy food I can tahan.

My mood was seriously damn bad already because it took SO long to come and they couldn't even get the damn order right.

I know that people in the FnB line get all the shit thrown at them. What? Forgive them because they are busy and it's not easy to be in FnB?

The management ought to be sliced with the kitchen knife. You can't even get me my mihun soup when I am the ONLY customer in the smelly cafe. A rempit stands behind the counter, tying bags of milo ice for what seemed like half an hour.

I demanded an exchange. He said okay.

15 minutes later, still nothing.

I said, "Kalau belum masak, saya tak mau ya."(If it's not cooked, I'm not taking it yea)

His reply?

"Okay."

WHAT THE HELL???????????????????

How can you be so nonchalant about orders? ARGH ARGH I HATE BAD SERVICE.

My period hormones went into overdrive and I dashed out the door...and went around looking for food. The canteen usually has chinese food. I saw some before heading over to the bloody hospital. When I went back , NOTHING was left.

You know the feeling when nothing goes your way and you feel that frustration bubbling up, threatening to become tears? Yeah.

I had no lunch. I felt so sorry for myself. I was going to go hungry. :(

Before the tears could spill, I grabbed a loaf of bread from the counter and didn't engage in my usual I-angrily-stare-cock-at-you-because-you're-angrily-staring-cock-back-at-me with the canteen aunty because I simply had no energy to be a bitch.

I was very very very sad. It's so pityful to eat bread for lunch you know. :(

My classmates noticed that I was about to cry and they stayed away from me. Must have looked pretty weird to them when they saw an angry and tearful Jolene cursing under her breath, swiping out a camera to camwhore.

I felt like crying somemore when I forgot to buy kaya for my bread.

:( :( :(

Uh Oh, I Have Taken An Interest In Football.

A very late night out to celebrate Josiah and Xin Yi's birthday proved to be a very new experience for me.

We went to this bistro which was situated in this abandoned mall so they converted the concourse area into a seating place. Quite eerie setting I would way as the only lights illuminating the patrons' faces were blue in colour.

Obviously there would be a white screen and projector whereever there are human beings and beer during the World Cup season. I was quite intrigued because this would be my first match(if I paid attention) of the season. England was playing against this country with a damn strange name called Trinidad and Tobago.

I hate to admit it but I find the sports section so nice and fun to read these days! :) Sports are ACTUALLY good reads. After the whole Mahathir and Badawi spat, nothing else was good in the papers.

Oooh ooh, I was lucky. I was in time to watch the beginning of a game. (Oh look at me, knowing how to insert the word 'game' at the correct places. :))

Maxis was seating next to me so the poor fella got bugged.

I summoned the very little knowledge I had about football and asked him a whole barrage of questions. "EH... I thought Dwight Yorke played for Manchester United? How come he playing for Trinidad and Tobago one?"

Ah. You must be amazed how I know Dwight Yorke even exists. I was introduced to the internet by my football loving cousin brother Hong Weng while he was studying for his SPM examinations and I was waiting for my UPSR results at that time. Needless to say, we spent quite alot of time chilling in Malacca at that time and he would bring me to football websites and let me see the handsome footballers on his soccer magazines. Michael Owen was still young then. (ANOTHER FOOTBALLER THAT I KNOW. I'M ON A ROLL, DAMNIT.)

"Because he is from that country one ma......." said Maxis, eyes fixed on the screen.

"You must be so amazed hor that I know who is Dwight Yorke?" I asked Maxis.
"Ya, very geng very geng." he replied, without taking his eyes off the screen.

"So that means you must play for your own country?" I asked again.
"Ya ya ya... WORLD cup what. These are not football clubs."
"Ah..." I was getting educated.

I smsed Chee Kiang and told him that I'm actually watching football and that I actually know who Dwight Yorke is and told him I know why Dwight is playing for Trinidad and Tobago. He was quite shocked. Not about Dwight, but about me caring about football.

At this point, the England Team were preparing to come out to the pitch.

I screamed, "DAVID BECKHAM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

The camera panned over to a little kid holding his hand. "WAH!! Brooklyn so big boy already ar???" I was so excited that Beckham's junior actually went to give moral support to his dad.

"Haiyoh, tradition lah. Every player holds a child to go out to the field."

Another football knowledge instilled:D

Damnit, those England players are so hot. People shout "GOAL!!!", I pulak shout, "WAH SEI LENGCHAI!!!!"

I was enjoying the game and giving the necessary cheer every now and then. I turned to Lie Yuen and Angela after awhile, "England what colour ar?"

"HAH?? You cheer so loud for what then???" they laughed.

Hahhaa. woops.

Okay, okay. I WAS interested in the game. I know I know, it was a blah match. But do forgive the football virgin because even looking at the ball rolling across the pitch and being hit from one end to the far side of the other end was quite interesting. Like I didn't know that Yorke actually grabbed his own balls in pain on national tv.

I had a fun time watching Crouch. I asked Maxis, "Why he always stand in one corner one?"

He said, "So he can use his head and pass the ball back to his teammates."

I wonder why Crouch's head is not swollen yet. But damnit, his legs are SO thin and SO long. Whatever he kicks fly far far away because of his extensively long legs.

I KNOW WHO ROONEY IS!! Yes. I've been reading the papers. He is a young football player who has a girlfriend who is famous for her shopping habits. He looks so surly. I think he reminds me of Victor Krum from Harry Potter. Okay, from what I've googled, I now know that he is England's weapon and that he is very powerful. Apparently playing against him is like playing against ten men.

Everytime one of the players nearly scores a goal, we would sream and shout. hahahaha. Now i know why football is so fun. No, I'm not being pretentious like I was during the last world cup. I tried watching a Brazil match at home alone and turned the tv off after 2 minutes.

Unfortunately, I didn't get to see the goals.. Lie Yuen was worried about her embryology notes back home. (She was as excited about the game too...but studies first!:))

I would love to see another match as noob as I sound. All the anticipation for the ball to go into that square thing with the net.. Unfortunately no television and exams are drawing close.

But I think it'll only be fun for me if I have an extreme football fan next to me, ever ready to answer my endless stream of questions.

Now that I have a slight interest in football.. I will need to learn the rules and different positions played..tactics and et cetera.

Hi, my name is Jolene and if there is a question in your head, this answer will definitely answer it: I was wrong and irrational. I was being a woman.

Jolene Lai, Jolene Lai,
Came to life in January and not July,
She is 19 years of age,
Can't wait to earn her own wage,
This dental student is home sick,
Will never be in Kedah for more than three weeks.

Subang Jaya is where she's from,
The only place she'll ever call home.
Has a boyfriend, a brother and a dog,
The things she says can give you a shock.

Especially for her father, who always gets a heart attack when he reads this blog.

Hey, rhymes!
