Sarcastic Lais

We were driving along that temporary u-turn near the Subang Police Station together and mum asked dad, "Do you know who owns the Jaya Square?"

Dad said, "Not me."

*

I asked my brother to steal an old school magazine from the library as I have made friends with someone who was a senior in 1992(I was still in kindergarten) and would like to have a good giggle how the person looks like as a teenager.

His reply? "I will not risk my diciplinary records to satisfy your self amusement."

So bitchy right? But it's okay, we're good. I gave my own bites back when I had the chance. That's what all siblings do.

*

We brought my grandparents out to eat at Esquire Kitchen in Subang Parade just now and you know how grandparents are not so keen on walking around the shopping mall so they suggested that they would sit on a bench outside a jewelry shop to wait for us.

They hesistated because there was an old guard with a huge ass gun perched on one end of the bench. The guard noticed my grandparents and he enthusiastically tapped the seat next to him.

My grandmother had this "uh oh" look on her face.

We left my grandparents there and laughed as we walked off.

Apparently, the old guard was chatting up my grandmother. He asked her how old she was and she replied, "68".

The guard said, "Oh! I'm 72! Eh, I can see ah, when you were young, you must be really beautiful. Yes or not, Uncle?"

My grandfather(aged 74) who was leaning against the railings just shrugged and said, "Sure lah!"

My grandmother is not one to blush so they were even chatting about how many grandchildren they have and the security guard has 18 grand children and he chided my grandmother for having only 3 grand children. ("Aiyah! Why so few?")

My grandmother huffily told us that the dude got boring after awhile and she said he was too chatty. Hehehe. It must be my grandmother's orange hair that's attracting him.

I was having a good laugh and I asked my grandfather, "Not angry meh Yeh Yeh?"

"Why should I be angry? Should be happy what! Still got people want to flirt with your Mama, it's a compliment!", he said as he gave his 'I'm happy but I'm not letting it show on my face' tight lipped expression.

Ehehe, grandparents these days. *shakes head*

The Horrid Culture of The Late Teens

I'm feeling the effects from over indulging in this unhealthy trend. As I type I can't help thinking about my bed but I am meeting up with friends later and I still have a little make up on and I am too tired to remove it. I'll just go out for drinks later with smeared eyeliner. Eheh.

When you're in your late teens your parents no longer opens the door without knocking(they are afraid to see what they do not thing you do) and hence there is no one to barge in at midnight and ask, "Young lady, do you KNOW what time it is?" (Yea dad, I just woke up from my afternoon nap.)

Therefore, I am given the freedom to stay up till whatever time I want. Plus the internet is on for 24 hours and there's a router at home. Life does not get any better than this.

Especially during the holidays, everyone is online from 11pm and the hardcore ones stay up together to talk crap till the wee hours. We usually say bye bye when we see the sky turn a violet blue. That's because we know that nothing important requires our presence the following day. We know that waking up after lunch bear no other consequences.

BUT WE HAVE THE CHANCE TO SLEEP. Why are we procrastinating sleep? We have all the time in the world to sleep and yet we choose to stone in front of the computer and grunt at each other through 1ee7 5p34k(is that how it's said?).

I remember one morning(4am) when I saw Amanda online and asked her if she was there and she very cutely replied, "MaNdA nevEr slEepS~!" This is another woman who is so hooked on the internet so much that she has admitted to me that she sometimes wants to insert asterisks into her sentences when she is talking in real life.

Obviously during exams if you were given the chance to sleep at 11pm you would gladly kick the books aside and sleep till the morning comes. Why is it the other way around during the holidays?

I cannot remember when was the last time I slept before 3am. Um, make that 4am. My most extreme would be 7am. One was to watch the sunrise in KL and another was to stay up to blog about the PPS bash. Yes, I am that sad. *hangs head down in shame*.

There was a time back in form5 when we were working very hard for the Interact Club's Valentine's Day Project and I did not get any sleep in 24 hours and ended up crying because I was too tired. Crying seems to be my thing. Crying Jolene Copyrighted.

I've asked a few of my friends as well and they too cannot remember when they last slept before 3am. I've read somewhere that parents should just leave their teenage children alone because we have different sleeping hours and it is only normal. So perhaps I'll grow out of this and not be all GANBATE LET'S WATCH THE SUNRISE!

However, I think age is catching up with me. I don't seem to have the energy I had two weeks ago. Tsk tsk. I'll go catch some shut eye now.

Yamcha-ing With The Old Interact Gang

It was supposed to be a bigger gathering since the old Interact gang comprised of Subang Utama, Seafield and SS17's director. We were the few Subang schools' Interact Clubs that were under Rotary Sunway. But SS17's directors are unreachable and the most fun director from that school is their vice president Ken Chua who is in Melbourne now. Most of our directors were busy last night and our Editor Abby and Club Service Director Zhuo Yan have gone to Aussie...so... it was only me(secretary of smksu), esther(treasurer of smsksu), kyle(publicity director of seafield), kenneth(iu director of seafield), elizabeth(secretary of seafield) and sha may(president of seafield.)

Hehe, nevermind lah. Five people also can crack stupid jokes together. No problem.

Esther and I have been sleeping really late these days. We can't remember when was the last time we slept before 3am. Hence, we are apparently losing weight as well. This is Esther with her new found weight!

And this is me! 2 Kgs down!! Woot!! Still fat la, but a loss is a loss. :)

Kenneth was so intrigued by the magazine.

Oh damn, 2 Kgs coming up!

I love the t-shirt.

HAHAHAHA Kenneth yang bodoh saw this booby model and he pointed and said, "OMG Like McDonalds. Pa ra pa ra pa ra ra..!" We laughed like mad.

Kenneth not wanting to hear anymore after we educated him about tampons and the pain that ensues. Apparently it was the first time he heard about tampons. He can't get over the string bit though. "SO pull out one ar? WAHHAHAHAHAA.." Bodoh. Don't tell me dissolve inside the body meh?

McDonalds' was damn empty at that time, so this picture was taken.

Cover up abit.:P

Esther and I

l-r: Kyle, Sha May, Me.

McDonalds' was empty leh.

Hehehe I like this pic. Puffing on fries. Dis eez gud sheeet.

WAHAHAHAHAAH... I have no idea. Don't ask me.

A nice picture of Kenneth and Kyle.

Kyle and I doing the mashi maro face that was a thing among us back in school.

Oh look! Here comes Elizabeth. Kenneth was saying this looks like a scene out of Baywatch. Hahaha.

l-r: Sha May, Elizabeth, Me, Esther

I think most of you would know that I am unable to open my eyes when I am faced with camera flashes. It's like my medula oblongata controls my reaction towards camera flashes. Kyle came up with this bright idea. We look so freaky.

Elizabeth has beautiful hair.

Elizabeth and Esther. Are we like promoting Seventeen or something? Speaking of which, go support my best friend Melody who's featured as one of the contestants in the search for the cover girl!! Just type CG<space>MELS and send to 36663. RM0.50 per sms! It'd be really funny to see her on the cover though!! I'd be so proud of her!!:D

A nice pic of me and Elizabeth

l-r: Esther, Kyle, Abang Ronald and me.
Abang Ronald looks pale... I think he is a little shy with me. Perhaps when we get to know each other a little better he won't look so freaked out when I try to get frisky.

Hi, my name is Jolene and if there is a question in your head, this answer will definitely answer it: I was wrong and irrational. I was being a woman.

Jolene Lai, Jolene Lai,
Came to life in January and not July,
She is 19 years of age,
Can't wait to earn her own wage,
This dental student is home sick,
Will never be in Kedah for more than three weeks.

Subang Jaya is where she's from,
The only place she'll ever call home.
Has a boyfriend, a brother and a dog,
The things she says can give you a shock.

Especially for her father, who always gets a heart attack when he reads this blog.

Hey, rhymes!
