Errand Sans Reason

Woke up this morning remembering that I had to meet Jocelyn at the Subang KTM station at 10.30.. mum left with the car to the workshop so I had to "find my own transport". I feel so grownup. Sigh. After reading the papers at 10.25, I walked out to the main road and immediately there was a cab. Hopped in and immediately keyed in the taxi's license plate number and company name into my handphone..something I always do when I get into a taxi. Once again, I have a friendly chatty talkative taxi man. He offered to drive me and my friends up to Genting for "only RM100".(See.. we even got to THAT topic). Arrived there at 10.40 and Jocelyn told me that the train just left. HAIHHHH..had to wait for another half an hour.

Upon arriving at KLCC, we met Lie Yuen and headed straight for KFC..mmm... delicious foooOoOd. ;D When I was having my lunch, Esther called me up and told me that the new Sophie Kinsella's Shopaholic Takes Manhattan is out!! YAY!!! After that we decided to carry out our purpose of heading to KL today. We wanted to go to Wisma Genting to pay for our trip up to Genting! So out we went to the hustly and bustly city of KL. Sunlight, Cars and Traffic Jams!! We then walked for nearly two-three kilometres..using shortcuts..stopping to ask friendly bell boys/security guards of hotels/big shot buildings for directions...more shortcuts..crossings of dangerous roads.. and alas, after a good half an hour of walking we finally reached WISMA GENTING!! So we went in and took a number to wait for our turn at the counter. We got to the counter and we told the lady that we have booked for 5 sets of the package. She said that Eric, the guy who was incharge of this promotion, did not confirm my reservations. ARGHHHH.. So I called Eric up and he apologized profusely and told me that he will bring the coupons to my house on Friday morning. Haih.. mafan tou sei. Plus, I'll be at the SAM charity thing helping Krystle and Munteng's class with their nail art.(yay.)... so RM600 bucks walked back with me to KLCC ..back to Subang.. gee.. RM600 in cash. Panic. Panic. So we went all the way there for nothing when I could have paid the guy from the comfort of my home. (hmm. sounds like a Maybank2u commercial).

We left at nearly 2 because Lie Yuen had to go back fetch her sister and I had to be back by three as Krystle and her classmates will be coming to my place to do some nail arts before their big day. It started to rain and poor Jocelyn was walking home. Sigh. There were many many taxis outside of the train station and I thought I was lucky. The first car offered me RM5 to go back to SS18.. (usual fare by meter would be less than RM3). I was like, "what??!" and I stormed off to the next cab and asked him, and he was like "Lima la moi"(five la little chinese girl) .. argh... What a rip-off!! I proceeded to the next .. also 5.. and then I approached a kindly old gentleman who smiled kindly at me. So I asked him, "bang, ke SS18 berapa?"(brother, how much to SS18?) ..and he smiled politely and he said, "RM8". I rolled my eyes and crossed the road to carrefour and proceeded up to the carrefour bus stop. There were four taxi men having a chat and I walked up to them and they asked me where did I want to go. I said, "SS18". And they were like, "stroke berapa?"(Stroke what?) and then they were like, "RM9 la moi".. I was like "APA?! Tadi mereka kata RM5 pun saya tak mau!!"(What?! They told RM5 just now and I did not want it!).. and they were like, "Jam la moi.." and I was like hands at my hip.. facing four old malaysian men and I said, "Kalau sesiapa boleh bagi saya RM5 saya naik!"(If anyone of you can give RM5 then I'll have the ride)..and they were like, "RM7 la..".. I was like, "RM5." and they were like, "RM6 lar....".. and I turned and walked away. Then one tiny Indian man just nodded his head at me and gestured at his cab. So i went in and asked him, "RM5 ya?" .. and he was like, "ha.. yala yala.." .. and then again he was another friendly talkative chatty taximan.  Haih. He thought I came from China.. my god. Well, technically I did. And he was like, "where did u grow up?" I was like, "er .. Subang Jaya?!".. and bla bla bla.. talks about the horrible Subang jam.. and weather. But the point is, I'm a powerful woman who negotiates her cab fares. Hurrah! .. though I could have gone down to RM3 or RM4. The cab dropped me back home and I arrived at the same time with Krystle and her classmates.

Wah Jocelyn is the damn bising one of the lot. She enjoyed my digi cam so much that she kept taking pics of herself and with us. LOL. The rest of them I suppose, picked up fast. They're coming again tomorrow though. I discovered that one of the girls, Suzzanah has Douglas Lim's phone number!! ahhh!!! and she said that some of her friends would prank call him and sing the Homecoming song to him. LOL.. and he would just laugh!! And another girl called Esther (hehe, estheerr..) told me that she has met Douglas Lim's mum who's a COSWAY agent. EVERY WEEK I'M GETTING SUCH LOVELY INFORMATIONS ABOUT DOUGLAS LIM. I LOVE IT!! lol..

This is Jocelyn! Being her own camerawoman.

This is Jocelyn,AGAIn!

Bad Luck

The one thing I detest about going all the way to Bangi for my driving is the length of the journey. Not once have I not fallen asleep in the car on the way there and on the way back. I'm the kind of person who can sleep just anywhere.

But throughout the journey I made friends with this girl from SJ. Her name is Esther Loh and a girl from my old school named Jennifer Teh. We started chatting about our old schools and soon I fell asleep leaving the two to chitchat for the reaming 40 minutes(ride is 45 minutes). Was awaken by the Uncle as we arrived at our destination. Got off the red kancil and proceeded to get our numbers. After lepaking around for quite awhile..(I waited till nearly 11....from 8.)

And off I went into the line awaiting their turns for slope, parking and three point turn. I got into this ratty old looking Kancil with a malaysia flag on the side. Slope was good. No problem. But parking?!! My engine died like THREE times..!! and it chugged and tugged back and chugged and tugged back and I was panicking by then. So decided to get it over and done with quickly. made for the three point turn but don't think I turned enough. Then it was time to reverse but my engine kept dying. I felt damn panicky. I reffed the engine yet still it wouldn't move. I sceamed at the JPJ men, "Kereta rosak la!!" then they were like, "BEBASKAN GEAR LAA!!"(for my non-malaysian friends,(even if I have any, they were from malaysia once upon a time) it meant, FREE YOUR DAMN GEAR BITCH!) then I looked down, and sure enough my gear wasn't at neutral. I nearly died. But then I released the gear to neutral and I tried to turn the engine on again but it just chugged and died..chugged and died..so I said, "Eh takboleh lar!!"(Cannot) and then one old JPJ man came up to me and he tried driving my car and he asked me, "Kalau saya boleh reverse kereta .. ah apa?" (If I can reverse the car, then what?) To which I replied, nearly in tears, "Saya gagal lar.."(I fail lar)..then he really could move the car. And he got out and I got in and drove it back. Damn, I was like, "Shit, is this it?"...I drove all the way back to the starting point and got out feeling damn dejected and useless. I stood under the hot sun for awhile not knowing where to go and what will happen. Everyone was looking at the stupid woman under the sun with a close-to-tears-face. Then I saw a booth next to the slope and thought that I should just go and confirm if I failed or not. But when I went there they were like, "Moi! Panic kenapa? Kau Pass la!!"(Little Chinese Girl, Why Panic? You Passed La!)

Then I went to the other area to wait for my road test. Yes, I bribed. I got into the car and did the five things and off I went. I was driving on 2nd gear for awhile.. thought that I needed to pick up speed before changing to the third gear. After 5 minutes or so, he asked me to park at the side of the road. Then he looked at me and asked me, "Macam mana kamu belajar memandu kereta?"(How did you learn how to drive a car?) "Kau Pandu macam ini..tentulah tak boleh!"(You drive like that..sure cannotla!)... "Kau tahu tak apa kesalahan kamu??"(Do you know what your mistakes are?) To which I shook my head sadly. He said, "Pertama sekali .. kau tak boleh pandu dengan halaju 20km/h. Sekurang-kurangnya 40km/h!"(Firstly, you can't drive at 20km/h.. you have to be at atleast 40km/h) "Lepas itu, apabila kamu tukar gear..kamu lihat gear kamu terlalu lama.. tak bolehlah tu!"(After that, when you change your gear, you looked at your gear for far too long. Cannot like that!)
Then I asked him, "um, so saya gagal?"(So, I failed?)... then he was like, "Gagal La!!"(FAIL LA!)..then we switched place and he drove me all the way back but dropped me far away from the waiting bay .. at least I won't be embarassed. Then I was pissed and I called Petaling Baru(my driving school) and asked them what the problem was. And then the lady said that she was sorry that she couldn't give the bribe money today because some high ranking officials are hear to check on this kichimai officials. So that explains my bad luck. How unlucky.. So sad. Have to wait for one more week to my P. Bitch.

Lame Boys Outside My Gate

I know I should be sleeping now and all..the time now is like 2.00am plus plus. I have my driving test tomorrow..and argh.I'm not asleep yet..! My dad's so funny,he asked me to pray for tomorrow..even though I already paid the duit kopi. But at least it's nice of him to make such a big deal out of it. :) Makes me feel important.

Just got off from a long chat with Sophia ... was great talking to you girl. *big hug*
And just finished a looooooong game of Solitaire on MSN with Barry..hahaha.. damn funny.

I'm quite worried about Bubbles.. he doesn't seem to be eating..and he is getting thinner and he doesn't look very active. I'm so afraid. I hope what happened to Shi Ling won't happen to him. Even though he's dang annoying at times.. but, he's been with me for four years now. Surely I love him too?

Anyway, on a lighter note: My parents + grandmother and I were driving around Subang taking pictures of houses with great exterior that uses wooden motive. Planning to renovate my front yard! Anyway, was driving along USJ2 area and bypassed Ladybird Kindergarten(my old kindergarten!).. I saw Mr.Ng (old principle) coming out of the gates. So I was looking at him hoping to catch his eye he looked up and gave me a weird look. I made my dad do a huge turn to go say hi to him. But my dad said he'd probably give me some standard answer since he couldn't possibly remember his pupils from 1992.

So I got out from the car and went up to him and said "Hi Mr. Ng! remember me?? I'm Jolene Lai!!" and he was like, "OH!! JOLENE! HI!! wow!!" then he said hello to my family and he was like, "oh! Jolene!! old student eh! I thought who was looking at me!"*he rubs his palms together*... Okay, I kinda didn't know he's so erm, like that. mentality still back in 1992. Now updated adi. Then he was like, "you guys stay over there right?"*points at USJ4*..and my mum was like, "no..ss18..."...and then he was like, "oh ya ya..right.."... then he was like, "so, jolene.. which standard are u in now?"
0_0... "erm, I'm in college now..".... he was like, "HAH!!??!!?? So many years already ar??" "yea..i was here in 1992-1993..hehe".. and he was like, "wow!! that long....."*and he probably realizes that it's been SO long since that kindergarten has been opened.*

Went to the movies with Nigel, Adrian, E-guy and Chang Song just now. Arrived there only to bicker about choice of movie.. lol..but it's great going on a Monday night. We walked straight up to the booth and could even stand there and make decisions and make phone call..lol..then instead of watching the Eye 2, we opt for The Gathering. I thought it was going to be boring at first. But it's not too bad. We waited for awhile with our popcorns and a coke each. I thought we looked quite sad lol. Everybody not wanting to share that kind. Then E-guy was peeved at Nigel for not remembering his birthday. Then I stole a popcorn from Nigel for being an ass for not remembering his good friend's birthday. Then I donated a popcorn to E-Guy as a pity gift. When we went into to look for the cinema...I brought the guys to the wrong end..and they all got pissed at me and took popcorns from my bag. lol. That was funny. Then we went into the cinema(the correct one)... were joined shortly after by Jiyang, Jimmy and friend.

The movie was great though. Then in the carpark Nigel was so dong dong he took the car and drove off and then Eguy,ADrian and Chang Song started running after it leaving poor Jolene behind ... shit I was scared!!  Then when they dropped me home, they waved at me very slowly as I opened the gates, the grill door, the wooden door..and they were still waving at me very slowly. Then I ran upstairs to my mum's room and see if they were still waving...well, they still were.  Then they came out slowly two by two. Two from the right... very very slowly..like corpse walking...and two more from the left hand side door.. creepy..and they joined together and looked up at my window in unison. Then they just stood there. and stood and stood. Even though I was laughing and asking them to stop it they were still there.. lol..YESLA VERY CREEPY LAAAA.. then they slowly disbanded and went back into the car in the exact same manner.. and they went in and switched on the lights and waved at me in that ultra slow motion way again. Creepy sial. I got some pictures.

Can you see Nigel and gang in the kenari? dark figures...

Then gathering outside my gate trying to scare me. This was taken from my upstairs' window which explains the quality.

Hi, my name is Jolene and if there is a question in your head, this answer will definitely answer it: I was wrong and irrational. I was being a woman.

Jolene Lai, Jolene Lai,
Came to life in January and not July,
She is 19 years of age,
Can't wait to earn her own wage,
This dental student is home sick,
Will never be in Kedah for more than three weeks.

Subang Jaya is where she's from,
The only place she'll ever call home.
Has a boyfriend, a brother and a dog,
The things she says can give you a shock.

Especially for her father, who always gets a heart attack when he reads this blog.

Hey, rhymes!
