Please Don't Take My Orange Away

Yesterday I finally gave in to my blocked left nostril which has started to result in a painful lump on the left side of my throat. I suspect it was because I was blowing my nose too hard. Just ask any of my classmates. It's so bad I can't be bothered to be embarassed about the volume of my nose blowing.

After going to the doctor, Mum and I went to the chinese herbs shop near by to see if they had fresh milk. We opened the fridge and ALL the milk have already passed their expiry date. We told the lady boss but she was so nonchalant about it. Disgusted, we took some buns. She was eating mandarin oranges, nice big and bright orange ones. It took almost all of me to refrain from reaching out for a piece. So I asked her if there were still any oranges around that were still on sale. She said that it was the last she had and asked if I wanted a piece. Mum said no because I have a bad sorethroat. =. Dejected, I asked the lady boss to take the brand essence from a shelf for me. She roughly pulled a chair and climed on top of it. She then threw her seeds over our heads and out her shop. 0_0. After that, she came down with my brand essence. Was quite horrified by her chou-lou-ness.(unladylike-ness)

Not believing her, I went to the nearest fruit stall and JOY!! They have mandarin oranges! Not just mandarin oranges but those BIG crackling JUICY ones that I've always talked about.

I bought about 20+ mandarin oranges.

As I sunk my teeth and allowed the sweet orange juice to flow down my throat but almost immediately a stinging sensation could be felt. My throat is temporarily sensitive to acid. Argggggghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.

Upset.  (Yes, Mel, I'll return your shirt to you soon. Soz)

Getting depressed and unsatisfied.

Thinking about the sweet mandarin orange.

Trying to hold back the tears..

It's falling...it's falling...

...oh the sorrow...

...no mandarin orange for me...

..so long mandarin orange. Hope you'll still be fresh enough for me when I recover.

By the way, the doctor gave me this vapour crystals that gives out minty vapour when I dissolve it in warm water. Mmmmm.

G10 The Movie Review

Yesterday afternoon, Rudi sent me this link. Hahaha, how come I never knew such a thing took place in our college? Furthermore people like Kwo Kuang, Yee Wern, Andrea and Mun Kit are in it!

It's really a sweet thought that the entire class (G10 of TCSJ's SAM 2004) filmed a movie together. something to remember each other by. The "storyline" was pretty far fetched in an intended hilarious way. LOL. What with terrorists kidnapping a scientist that has a potion to create genetically-abled people. Hahahahaha. I like how so many familiar locations around SS15/Subang are used in the movie.

Hahaha..the entire class even went up to Genting(as a class trip) to watch the "premiere" together. LOL.

My favourite bits:
1. When Mun Kit the scientist got frustrated with his calculation and wrote F=uck amidst all the other jumble of calculations.
2. The newscaster scene. AHAHAHA. So real man. The way Gerard talked was exactly the way a real newscaster would talk. They even had a faint background showing the KL nightline. Hahahaha.
3. The policeman!! The uniform!! How did they get it? Hahahhaa.. and the Bahasa Polis was soooooo real I thought that they guy who played the police was actually a real police! Hahahaha
4. The wall-scaling kick. That was cool! But Kwo Kuang told me that it was actually a camera trick. Hahahha..

By the way, Kwo Kuang's a terrorist in the movie! Hahahha.

Thanks Kwo Kuang for lending me the cd!

Had my bio presentation today and our group(me, Caroline, Joanne, Sarah) were given Surgical contraception as a topic.

It's great how everything's enlarged on the projector. :)

Joanne controlling the slides.

Caroline and Sarah presented as I've already done my part by collecting all the materials.

Hello!;D

Rudi's group(Rudi, Michael, Arvind and Barry) was pretty innovative. They presented their topic in a talk-show way. Hahahaha.

Talk show in the "studio".

They even passed contraceptive pills around for the class to see.

The adoring audience.

After class, we bumped into Kay Hong and Amanda and the moment I saw Kay Hong and his bumfluff, I fell about laughing after screaming, "Ada bulu kah kau?!" HAHAHAHA... What is he trying to do by growing facial hair?!!

Chinesemen should NOT grow facial hair until they are too old to hold a shaver. It's in our genes. It just ends up looking like bum fluff!

Hahaha, but Kay Hong seems to be proud of it! Well, good for him! *gives Kay Hong an encouraging look*

Manda posing with the lucky bulu.

My turn!! Bulu oh bulu! *pull, pull*

Blogging Impressions

During lunch today, Barry and I met up with Amanda at Success. Always up for a good dose of chicken porridge.

Amanda said that she was chatting to an RO friend of her's who is from KL and when he saw her msn picture which was a picture I once had on my blog of the three of us(Amanda,Me,Esther), he exclaimed, "HEY! I've read the girl in the picture's blog before!" So Amanda was going on about how incredibly small the world is while I sat there brimming with pride.

She used an example of some of the clubbers that she knows who are linked to each other and she cannot get over how well connected everyone is. It's like another Friendster all together. Then she started to contemplate if she could actually write a blog.

But I can see what will happen: Amanda will look high and low for the prettiest template, crack her head for the most interesting things to blog about, do a thorough research...etc. Just like the times she wanted to purchase a lava lamp(comparing quality, price, for a few months) or whatever it is she sets her heart upon it has to be of a certain particular (accurate) standard. This woman will go far.

Her reason being that she doesn't want her blog to give a crap impression of herself to her readers. It made sense.

Does the quality of a blog really gives a permanent impression of the blogger to her readers?

Alot of bloggers are judged for revealing too much about themselves. If you post a depressive post every now and then, do people tend to look at you in a different light? Do they forget who you are in person and relate everything you do/say as a person in real life to the things you blog about online?

Barry chipped in this thought: "I hate blogs who blog about their daily activies...ie. Today I woke up and went to college. etc.". Erp. I might be guilty of that. But I agree that there are blogs that are SO monotonous it just kills the meaning of blogging. Especially when they use L33t speak(the Malaysian kind eh?) and have their entire entry in one long paragraph WITH the smallest fonts possible. Oh lordy! For example: "U nv gona blif wat dat asshole...blabla..fark, fark..etc". If you are determined enough to blog, you should be determined enough to key in the rest of the alphabets. So do people who put in crap entries that totally echos with the lack of enthusiasm give the impression that they are nonchalant about whatever they do?

Amanda said that some blogs are trying to give the impression that they are so cool just because they go places and do things. It's like they cannot stop talking about what they did today, which place they went after that, before that, the next day, the following monday etc. Are they really trying to tell people that they have such a fun and hectic life?

Personally, I'm not too sure. I have to agree with Barry again when he said that you basically blog for yourself. Perhaps that's his motto.(Which explains the frequency of his updates). So when I said I agree, he said, "You care what people think!" and I was like, "Do I?" "Yea, you delete your entries,". Well, I have to. I am one who cannot stand making enemies with people. For example when Sher Lyn wanted me to remove this bit about her and the time when my cousin's friends wanted their pictures taken down. Oh well, you have to play by the rules sometime. You can't move as you like.

What makes a good blog is the blogger's ability to laugh at him/herself. For example Audrey. She is not ashamed of the embarassing situations that she somehow has the misfortune to end up in. It keeps us going back for more laughs on every other day. I suppose that's the way karma is eh? If you are an unfortunate person, you have good blogging material. Obviously it is also due to the blogger's narrating style which is of a good standard that got us hooked.

After hearing their thoughts, I can't help but wonder. What makes others' read me? How negative/positive is the impression that I am giving out?

Hi, my name is Jolene and if there is a question in your head, this answer will definitely answer it: I was wrong and irrational. I was being a woman.

Jolene Lai, Jolene Lai,
Came to life in January and not July,
She is 19 years of age,
Can't wait to earn her own wage,
This dental student is home sick,
Will never be in Kedah for more than three weeks.

Subang Jaya is where she's from,
The only place she'll ever call home.
Has a boyfriend, a brother and a dog,
The things she says can give you a shock.

Especially for her father, who always gets a heart attack when he reads this blog.

Hey, rhymes!
